Big Sur trip prep

On the site to get my wife's Shadow VLX 600 outfitted for two-up trips.   Planning to go to up to Monterey Aquarium via Jolon and back via Big Sur, of course.   I've driven SR 1 at least 25 times, but I can't rem if ever on a motorcycle.  I'll have to look thru photos to see if did it on my CB500 in 1984.  Wife and I did get to Ragged Pt for lunch on our Rebel's in 2006.

  • I envy you!  Here it is just above freezing and the fall rains have set in.  I have posted a picture from my Big Sur trip.  Ya gotta love Californian cruising.  I hope to go this summer.

  • From Monterey it's not much further to go to Alice's Restaurant at intersection of Hwy 35 and Hwy 84, a popular biker hangout. If you go let us know, we might meet you there for lunch.

    all the best,

  • Hi AppleboxBob, Just watched a video entitled (My first video)by CC member "Bikinjb", on a trip that included riding up Big Sur. U might check with him about the "essentials" you'll need for your trip. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to help you out. Wish you the best in your upcoming trips...Wink
