Desperation for a Motorcycle

Well, it all started about 5 yrs ago when my wife and I got married. We moved into house that we rented for about 3 yrs, that I say was the worst place to live, not b/c the house was ugly or unkept, but b/c of what called me every saturday morning. The masses started to roll in and I could hear the rumble from a mile away. You see, I lived on a stretch of road that lends itself to the best back country roads out in this area. I would tell my wife, "I'm going to get myself a bike and going to get it soon, well, that soon didn't happen as soon as I liked. Financially, we weren't ready, I didn't have anywhere to put it, (location wasn't exactly the safest to leave valuables either), and most of all, like all loving wifes the concern of hurting myself. Well things got better, we moved into our new home about two years ago, and finally got my bike about a year ago. Let me tell you, I had so much opposition from my wife about the bike, that now I laugh, b/c she sends me emails for biker clothing for herself and ask me when is the next rally and when we go places, she ask "are we taking the bike?". So instead of this just being a my thing, we both enjoy it, and you know what that means? more stuff for your bike....... well to end things on a better note, she told me that she wants to learn to ride too. That's my baby. Ride hard or go home. 2006 VTX 1800 NEO W/ WIFE & ME

  • Lucky man.  I have tried many times to get the wife to go and get the classes and look to getting her own but she keeps shooting me down.  Her ex unfortunately wasn't a very, shall we say, reasonable rider.  Scared her pretty good.  Talk about baby steps!!  Maybe one day.......

  • I envy you because i love to ride and just wish my wife could enjoy it with me too, but unfortunately she says that she's not getting on with me. I've invited her to go for a ride about three times but I don't want to push her and have stopped asking her. Any tips for me?

  • My wife and I enjoy ridding also! We are in our 50's and life just started to SUCK so I started to look for something that showed something with excitement in it and my sons both talked me into buying a bike. I bought a little Honda vlx 600 for me to ride but soon found out the wife loved to ride also. I soon sold that bike and just upgraded to a Kawasaki 900 Classic, didnt want too big of a bike (since I'm so old) that I couldnt handle. Anyway we took a trip from Utah to Montana this summer with our youngest son and we Loved it!!!! Ride safe and Live Long!

  • You sure hit the nail on the head with your comment of hearing the masses rumbling and the calling to get back into biking! Stay safe
