    • History has given Bowser credit for inventing the gas pump, but what Bowser tried to invent was a better way to pump water from a well. His invention wasn’t strong enough to draw water from such a depth, but when applied to shorter distances it was a success. Bowser applied his principles to small pumps that were badly needed in country stores and anywhere that kerosene was sold. This was during a time when very little gasoline was being used, as the automobile had still not been invented. The 1892 introduction of the Durea automobile and the growing popularity of automobiles brought changes to the pump industry. As gasoline sales increased following the turn of the century, Bowser built a gas pump for general stores. Bowser grew rapidly and became a very large corporation with branches all over the world. Bowser also diversified, making hundreds of products besides gas pumps. At the end of World War II, Bowser found itself in financial trouble and began offering gas pumps at lower prices.

    • Thunder Road off of Canton Lake

    • Thunder road at Canton Lake is a small - generally unmarked - 2 lane public access road that winds it's way from a few miles west of Longdale, OK. to the north side of Canton Dam. It is about 1 mile northwest of Canton, OK. and 19 miles southwest of Fairview Oklahoma. The road is somewhat notorious for its late night road races and parties. But, the cathedrals of cottonwoods, sprays of cattails, sumac bushes, and oak trees create a dynamic home for wild turkeys, deer, pheasants, bobwhites (quail), bobcats, eagles (including Bald Eagles), and the occasional cougar.

    • Headed to work on my 2005 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe.  This is my 1st video with the new GoPro Wide helmet cam.  Looks like I will have to make a few adjustments for my next video, the camera needs to be mounted higher.  And of course you can hear the famous Yamaha "whine".

    • Taken 9-5-2009 at the Gloss Mountain Cruiser Show held on Msin Street n Fairview OK. About 30 bikes there (Definitely more cars). They guy in this vid has been burning rubber for almost 30 seconds already... Enjoy.

    • Third attempt to get this running... Well - sort of. Actually different one than I tried to load up last night. That video was shot with a miniDV using digital tape. Really grainy and shaky video. Had to go back to Woodward, OK again to pick up my vest - had a couple patches sewed on. Decided to re-use the Canon that I had used on the Small Town USA - Fairview shoot. Also had to mess with the record setting on last nights video just to get it to upload size. I believe that's what caused the "viewing" problem. Worked much better - hope you like the results.

    • Title stated it all. Coming to a small town near you... Jury rigged the camera mount out of a 1" steel hydraulic hose clamp, one 1/4 bolt, several 1/4"  nuts and flat washers, rubber from a bicycle inner tube.

    • National HOG Rally 5.FLV

    • Oklahoma City hosted the National HOG Rally this year. Took my son and youngest daughter to see the event. This is the first in a set of 5 separate videos. We arrived late at the Parade of Flags , so I didn't catch that portion on video; however, we got the last 20 minutes or so. This was taken at the state fairgrounds where the event was actually being held. Can't tell it but over 15,000 Harley-D's were counted as being there!

    • National Harley Owners Group (HOG) Rally - OKC 2009 - Video 4

    • Oklahoma City hosted the National HOG Rally this year. Took my son and youngest daughter to see the event. This is the 4th in a set of 5 separate videos. We arrived late at the Parade of Flags , so I didn't catch that portion on video; however, we got the last 20 minutes or so. This section is the final of the parade and has one of their Road Captains coming up as the Rear Guard near end. We "Riders"  in Oklahoma considered their presence here in Oklahoma a great honor to our state and hope they will come back next year. Hopefully the high tempartures (102 to 105 F.) won't keep them away.

    • Oklahoma City hosted the National HOG Rally this year. Took my son and youngest daughter to see the event. This is the 3rd in a set of 5 separate videos. We arrived late at the Parade of Flags , so I didn't catch that portion on video; however, we got the last 20 minutes or so. This is the longest of the video sets that I'm uploading. We Rider in Oklahoma considered their presence here in Oklahoma a great honor to our state and hopr they will come back next year.     • 2004 Honda Indian Scout 745 ......; The Indian Scout Motorcycle was born in 1920 and was the brainchild of Charles B. Franklin. In 1927 the Indian Scout Motorcycle, initially with a 596 cc (37ci) engine was bored out to 745 cc (45ci), and was Indian's most important model. The 1928 Scout 101 was and is regarded as Indian's best handling if not best-ever motorcycle. The Scout 101 won many races and it and the later Sport Scout which came out in 1934 and Standard Scout in 1936, were often hopped up for racing and street-fighting. Models of 1934 featured Indian's famous head-dress logo on the gas tank. Indian's huge Springfield, Mass. factory was known as the Wigwam, and native American imagery was much used in advertising. The Indian Scout went out of production after 1945. Ironically, Soichiro Honda rode a 101 Scout for a number of years and it inspired him to build motorcycles. The theme for this Honda Motorcycle is (Honda Indian Scout 745) it has a 745cc (45ci) 52 degree V-twin motor with, 3-valves and 2-plugs per jug, a single pin crank, single 1.34in. carb, two into one headers.     • Exxon Gas !!!!!!

    • In 1972, Exxon was unveiled as the new, unified brand name for all former Enco and Esso outlets. At the same time, the company changed its corporate name from Standard Oil of New Jersey to Exxon Corporation. The rebranding came after successful test-marketing of the Exxon name, under two experimental logos, in the fall and winter of 1971-72. Along with the new name, Exxon settled on a rectangular logo using red lettering and blue trim on a white background, similar to the familiar color scheme on the old Enco and Esso logos.

    •  Texas Fuel Company, founded in 1901 in Beaumont, Texas, by Joseph S. Cullinan, Thomas J. Donoghue, Walter Benona Sharp, and Arnold Schlaet upon discovery of oil at Spindletop. For many years, Texaco was the only company selling gasoline in all 50 states, but this is no longer true. Its logo features a white star in a red circle (a reference to the lone star of Texas), leading to the long-running advertising jingles ;You can trust your car to the man who wears the star and Star of the American Road.     • When the company that was to be known as Gulf was born in 1901 with an oil discovery in Spindletop, Texas, the primary commercial fuel was coal. By 1903, the age of mechanization had arrived and it was now up to the petroleum industry to keep pace, for the age could not proceed without it. Gasoline development, into which Gulf invested millions of dollars, responded to advances in automotive technology to make the modern motorcar possible. Within a dozen years of Spindletop, Gulf scored notable firsts with the worlds first drive-in service station, complimentary Gulf road maps and over water drilling at Ferry Lake.     • First these pics are just reference material for CromagnaMan's article "Explaination of a Guardian Bell". My wife bought me two, one for my 1983 Shadow - the other for my 2002 Shadow ACE Deluxe. Both have a Christian theme. To find it in the pic, look down and to the left of the exhaust pipe - you can see the top of it there...

  • Missed out on a Tour of Viet Nam, thanks to the do-gooders and their anti war campaign. Served for six years in the R.A.E {Ares}.
    Have the greatest respect and admiration for those who have and those who still are serving their countries as members of the Armed Forces.
