It`s always some degrees cooler riding through the mountains but I didnt expect it to be sooo cold so soon. I mean it's only October! Down in the town of Sayula it had been a nice day.  The wind was cool but it only got to you if you werent moving around much and stayed in the shade. If you got cold all you had to do was step into the sun light. However, as we started to climb the mountain, the sun hid behind a thick rain cloud.   When we got to the top we HAD to pull over and get something hot to eat. We were shaking when we got off the bikes.  I had a nice borrego (lamb or ram or something) stew and a deliciously hot cup of coffee (cafe de olla).  I just love those road side restaurants! Food tastes so much better for some reason. Once tha warmth in our tummies spread to the  rest of our bodies we were ready to continue the ride back home.  Luckly I was carring my heavier gloves and an extra t-shirt. The extra layer (as light as it was) and the hot meal made a big difference.
