Run in with the law...
Yeah, this morning not 10 minutes into my commute I had the lovely pleasure of receiving "another" performance award from the California Highway Patrol.
The story begins on a normally lonely stretch of road which winds through the central valley of California between Manteca and Modesto. Traveling nearly the posted speed limit, I ran up on a gravel / dirt truck doing 50 in a 55 in a double yellow zone of a two lane highway. I backed off a tad... and took several pelts from falling stones and dirt clods... just waiting for the broken yellow line to appear.
The line of cars behind me grew as the broken yellow approached... I checked ahead for oncoming traffic, dropped my Goldwing into third gear, grabbed a hand full of throttle and blasted past the littering truck.
Several hundred yards after passing the truck, I approached and entered a nice sweeping corner, accelerating as I exited. All felt great unlit I glanced to my right, seeing a highway patrolman on his shiny BMW... radar in hand. "Damn!" I thought as I rolled off the throttle flying past the officer. Spying my rear view mirrors, I watched for movement. The officer pulled out in persit, and I pulled over in anticipation of the receipt of my performance award.
"Morning" the officer said. "License please. I noticed you were speeding."
Well, this was true.
As the officer wrote my ticket, we chatted. I signed my ticket and we parted ways.
Time for another attempt as the Trial by Declaration. I will let you all know how that one turns out. The last go round was awesome.
Good night.

It went on to say, "Upon motion the court case was dismissed due to Lack of Prosecutio n." Whew!!!! That is 4 for 5 in the past 24 months! Still keeping my fingers crossed for my last outstandin g ticket...
