When I went to purchase my Silverado the first thing I did before even brining her home was had them change my pipes to the Vance & Hine cruisers and rejet. Also while looking at her on the sales floor I'm thinking of all the things I want to change...a
oleyella, 3 weeks ago | FlagWhen it comes to what a bike looks like depends on what type of person you are. Most times the bike will match the owners characteri
stics,it becomes part of you.You just keep adding stuff to it til it suits your taste, the only thing is it really never ends. You always want just a little more.Putti ng all those parts on and painting it just "makes It Yours"one of a kind, thats the whole point in doing what we do to OUR bikes. And when you step back proudly and see what you created,IT MAKES IT ALL WORTH IT,ride safe and take care all. OLD GUYS RULE...... .......... ....
TIMTHEGAS, 3 weeks ago | Flaggal i waited a long long long time for my new ride. i chose the vtx because it was the biggest i could afford, i do want to change her . i have not got the choice in uk that you have and the import duty is daft. an exhaust system will cost me over a third more on import and that will sting. i have paid loads for the bike so it will stay as is for now. but watch this space she will evolve. all the best sweetheart
and please my friend be very safe your english cousin TIM
FreeBear, 3 weeks ago | FlagI bought my current ride because it was everything I 'thought' I wanted in a bike at a price I could afford. I had done research into a number of bikes I was interested in(especially Harley, just that price would dictate more than wants) and ended up very happy with my Vulcan purchase. Just added the few things from the show room that I thought were required parts: w/s, bags, backrest and rack for two up riding. I had intended to add a few things as I deemed neccessary to dress her up, but only as finances would allow. Then the wife expressed interest in having and riding her own bike. Once that was achieved, all the wheels fell off the applecart, so to speak. Finances be damned, she had her own ride and wanted it her way! She's kind of a visionary that way(I say just stubborn). But, everyone has their own tastes and as long as she likes it, that's fine. Problem being, I have had to put most of my accessory wants on hold. Where am I going with this, oh ya, I didn't have strong intentions of changing my bike too much. But the more I ride it, the more things I would really like to do as far as radical appearance. But, again, finances will only allow so much at a time. Everyone, ride safe and often and enjoy the ride.
australian6, 3 weeks ago | FlagI am with you Vstargrl.
When I go to dealers, to check out a bike that has appealed to me, I like walk around her, sit on her and get a feel for her.
Then I go away do some research into her and check out what accessorie
s and performanc e mods are available. Once I am happy that she is the one I head off back to the Dealers to settle up the details lol. Of course one of the things I always change is the exhaust lol
With just a tad of luck, hopefully in Jan 2010, I will be doing just that as I am currently assessing the viability of buying a new Vulcan VN1700 Classic, so I'm alreday thinking of all the things I want to change...a
dd or do with her. Not that my girls can figure what the hell I want a third bike for lol
