My first bike was an German built ADLER 250cc twin road bike Very quick when it went but sadly for obvious reasons mother called it my push bike. This was sold and the "big Honda " was purchased. It was the 90cc Sports bike good for 75mph down hill. Lots of fun in the dry and lots of lost skin in the wet. Next came the Triumph Thunderbird 650cc This was the first Trumpy with an alternator. Lucas the "prince of Darkness" still had more work to do!!! Was it 18 or more wires into the headlight switch? It was bored out to 700cc and went like the clappers.
Next was the A10 BSA Golden Flash. I found it, in parts, in a wheelbarrow. It spent the first few months of its life with me and my brand new bride in our bedroom...love me love my bike.... Then after many years came the Honda 185 trail bike. This one was three years old at the time and found in a rubbish dump in the remote West Australian desert. A bit of a fiddle and away it went! Some more years past and the dream bike of my youth arrived in the form of the 1971 Norton Commando 750 Hi-Rider. 9 years later brings us to 12 months and 15000kms ago when the VT750 Honda Shadow found a home in my shed.
