After nearly 23 years of being out of motorcycling, I decided to get back into it. I purchased an 2003 Vulcan 1600 Classic. I loved it. great bike and I accessorized it extensively. After 22K plus miles on it, I decided it was time to upgrade to another bike with hard bags versus leather saddlebags and a larger displacement engine.
A riding buddy of mine had a Triumph Rocket III Classic (R3C). While I was enamored with the bike, the stacked exhaust and uneven pipe arrangement was a deal breaker for me. Then I read about the new Rocket III Touring (R3T) from Triumph for 2008.
Once I saw the R3T in person, I had to have it! Quick release windshilield, hard bags, single exhaust pipes on both sides, large single headlamp. It had every thing I was looking for in my next bike. I've loved this bike since I first had a chance to ride the demo!
The R3T engine powers this bike like a locomotive! Twist the throttle and you're flying. As us Rocket III owners say... "There's no replacement for displacement".
