About me:

Hello from FRANCE.

First things 1st George Anthony Wolfe, married to Pamela, I dont use George that much, only on official documents, so I us Tony. We are both English and moved to FRANCE in 1984 after many holidays in the area and finding a different way of life.

When we arrived in 84 I started working as a trucker driving all over Europe and leaving Pam to rebuild the ruins that we had bought. She had little DIY skills but after a while she was putting up walls and general building things. She had help with the roof as it was a question of size rather than know how, we still have not finished after all these years but what she has done is amazing.

I quite the road in 1987 and started in what you would call a TRUCK STOP as the owners became good friends and it was 15 minutes from home, it was on the UK Spain/Portugal road and we had a load of English speaking customers so I was an advantage to the TS. Worked there till I became ill in 2006 and now am retired 2009.

As far as biking goes I am a LONE WOLFE as Pam likes to be in control of what she drives as she also was or is a pro driver ( BIG RED BUSES ) and she wont get behind me on the bike as she knows my car and truck driving skills.

Its handy when we go to a rally she follows in the car with all the gear leaving the bike clear, and to bring back our winnings, we have a certain luck with tombola's and lucky draws.

This is a new shortened version with less ramblings and I will update as we go along lifes big highway and with all the things that we now know that route is not that smooth.

12/13/09: Changed to a brick wall as boy the red tape and the laws that are set down to slow down your way of life is just like hitting a brick wall. Yesterday was the wifes birthday and I told her she has got an extra payment each month ( supplementry pension ) and it is less than 25 Euro, wont keep her in smokes for 4 days let alone 4 weeks.

01/01/010: The start of a NEW YEAR, lets hope last years^ptoblems rest in the past, as far as the Yamaha goes, no projects on the horizan and all I hope for is the chance to ride a bit more this year.

As I am posting this we are in the middle of our winter snap and the thermo is at MINUS 10 °C and heating oil is running low as the lorry cant get round the small country roads bcause of ice and snow, we have about 2 days left and then COLD COLD!

All is good oil was delieved and I can sleep in about 05° C when its cold, The new year of 2010 is one month old and sadly some of our lads serving in conflicts all over did not have the same chance as you and I, its a shame we cant go to champions fighting hand to hand to decide what is going to happen rather than all the deaths. Look at HAITI every body pledges or goes together.

Its getting near the end of Febuary and the snow has now gone round here, but is still falling in some areas, the WX now is RAIN which for us is worse as we are waiting to get our roof fixed ( REROOFED ) and the roofer man is and old friend who gave us a good price for the job, but in the meantime we play DANCE WITH THE BUCKETS every time it rains. I thought about putting up a panel " SAVE OUR ROOF FUND " that way I could get another roofer and pay the going rate but get it fixed straight away!

I have just recieved a box from the USA and when I opened it up I saw that the things I had been waiting for had arrived, I was so pleased, good job I checked the packing as it gave a little clink clink and low ansd behold I found a GAURDIAN BELL inside a super YamAha coffee mug, the bell was a WOLF and that goes with my thoughts and name, I drink anout 1.5 litres of coffee a day and the bell was given so its powers will be increased and being of the WOLF it will hunt down and kill them gremlins before they fall off, so that dont jump up on the next bike that passes.

Life is amazing when your down and out and in the shit there is it seems somebody to give you a helping hand and remonts the moral a couple of pegs. Since 2006 I have been laid up and sometimes its been hard to find a way of passing the days so when you help someone else with there problems the day goes better for you, the easy thing for us is to help the French with there little problems with the English and as we have been here since 1984 we have been run ragged by the rules and regs so we can help other English with there French problems for they have so many because they come here with the wrong outlook and the wrong attitude to the French way of life, ( when in Rome).

I have hade some WONDERFUL contacts from members and it has touched me deeply ( no I was slightly touched before ) with offers of help, with respect to them I cant name them but I will give you a good reference when I get to that big biker rally thats lasts for ever and ever Amen

OK the time is passing at a speed of a 125, its already APRIL, and I can hear my wife whispering in the kitchen with some of our friends about the 23rd, but now I dont worry about the numbers and as long as its a sunny day all well and good and Then I can say I made it for another year. I have seen that some off you guys are 70+ and still ride, I have not got the stamina but the ridding bit dont change, last month one of you fab guys sent me a pair of gloves and said if they were too small to pass them on, well I have been wearing them round the house at night to keep my hands warm and to stretch and flex the leather, now I have a new pair of gloves for which cut down on the numbing pain in my left hand as they are thicker than my construction gloves, In the box there was a teeshirt and other goodies, live is not a bitch after all.

Things are looking up I use EBAY.fr to sell my things that I dont use any more and its been slow but this week sold a Olympus camera ( won last year at rally ) and had some interest in my Pylone ( radio mast 12M tall ). We got no kids so what will happen to all that we have in draws and in cupbords, we need to pay bills and eat now not in 4 years time when the UK pay my other half of my pension. We are also looking into selling our house now as in FRANCE you can sell your home and live in it till you die and then it passes to whoever bought it, ( one way if you got no kids to leave it to)

LOVE YOUR BROTHER

ANYWAY we wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010.

Well 2010 is about over and it has been a sort of good year in most aspects of our life. The most important is that at last we got our roof fixed after waiting 18 months and since then it has not stopped raining, so now when its below 0° outside I got 14°  in the bedroom.

Pam came with me to a club dinner, the first time in a couple of years but a group of 1%'ers arrived to rearrange the face of someone putting an old lady in hospital for a short while, although this happened and the dinner was put into the waste bin of history Pam did not blame the new friends she has made at that outing.

I have been to a few rallies no more than 250 km's from home and taken photos with a little digital cam which I found on the WWW, and made a bunch of new friends for which I am pleased, only one problem when I had a " friendly " warning to take of one off the rockers on my vest as it was the 81's right to wear FRANCE as a location and after reading PATCH RULES and REGLES I decided that my fighting days are over so it came off.

Anyway if you are reading this I am still alive although the health is under control and we wish you a happy end of year and the start of another chapter of your book of life.

2011 has started and it seems to be starting well, we have seen an influx off new members and even some that are not afraid to tap a few words, remember all those that have been before you and think I am as good if not better than W Shakespeare, ended up makeing fishing poles ans CB aerials, M Twain and his never the Twain shall meet  and HOME, ended up in a tv show about the family Simpson and last but not least that female whole wrote about a Potter called Harry, his pots will go on for ever.

So 2011 lets it be your year to shine!

Well its now the 9th of January 2012 and I am still going, not as good as last year but thats to be expected with another year on the pink slip.

We here in France wish you all a very HNY 2012 and hope that your wishes come true or at least make your year a good one.

Wink all the best wishes from us Tony and Pam
