Nine (9) years in the Marines and I was 20 when my younger brother taught me to ride on an Interceptor. I rode on the back and held on...then it was my turn. A year later, I wrecked his Interceptor, kept it and rebuilt it in my dinning room.

He got another Interceptor(first models were 700cc) and then two(2) weeks later traded it in on a Interceptor 1000. To this day, that is the most violently fast bike I have ever been on. Yes, I know that modern bikes are faster but this bike put the driver in the passenger seat if you did not hold on. Passing and being pased by this bike was breath-taking

My next bike was a CBR 600 and I joined the Southeastern Sportbike Association (I do not know what happened to this group). It was GREAT !!! They rented Talladega Raceway, Road Atlanta (Brassleton) and other tracks for members. $100 bucks or so and a full day of Racing with great support from other members. Every make of bike you could thinik of was on the track for speed and I saw my first 100,000 mile odometer on a Bike...it was a Kawasaki Sport Bike.

Later I enjoyed a course with the California Superbike School at Road Atlanta and really learned how to take corners and I am still trying to take another course...I strongly recommend the experience.

I have been in Atlanta since 1983 when I spent three (3) years as a USMC Recruiter/Body Snatcher...

Still here and now staying since this is Home to my Girls...

135 mph on a CBR 600 on the Back Stretch of Road Atlanta

110 mph on a VTX 1800 coming back from Elijay and headed towards Dallonega
