My name is Scott. I started riding go carts & mini bikes back in the late 60's. Crap, I can't be that old! My first bike was a Honda Trail 70. I outgrew that quickly. Didn't know it at the time, but I was on my way to being 6'4" tall, so bikes got small pretty fast! Next was a Honda 100, then a Suzuki 250. Most of my riding was off road back then. Next I got a Yamaha YZ400, with that new monoshock. Very fast bike back then. 

My dad taught me some things about the dental lab business and I started making gold crowns right out of high school in 1974. The money was pretty good so I thought I'd just do that until I figured out what I really wanted to do. Needless to say, I'm still making those gold teeth! I kept that YZ400 a long time, until crashing in the dirt involved more & more pain and longer and longer recovery periods! I think it had something to do with age! I added a Honda 500 to ride on the street, which quickly led to a Honda 750 Magna. A few years later twins came along and the bikes disappeared. Funny how that works!   

I celebrated my 40th birthday with a tube going into my chest with chemo drugs flowing through it. That was 14 years ago & its all good now. In a way, might have been one of the better things that ever happened to me. It kind of gets your head straight & teaches you not to sweat the small stuff. I was even stubborn enough to hold on to most of my hair! Doc said he'd never seen that before.

The kids grew up & are on their own now & there was an empty stall in the garage. After 21 years I decided to get another bike. Looked around & found a very clean 2007 Yamaha VStar 1300, so I bought it. Best thing I ever did! I enjoy riding now more than ever. The price of gold has gone through the roof, but the price of chrome isn't far behind!!!  Ride safe everybody!
