About me:

My name is Keith, I'm 55, married for over 30 years and the proud father of three daughters. Also included family members are two female dogs, a blue healer australian shepherd mix and a beagle mix, two cockatiels, one male (thank god) and one female.  I'm also the proud grandfather of two (more) female dogs, a yorkie cho wawa mix and the newest member of the family, a labradoddle puppy, now near 70lbs, feasting on memory foam dog beds.

I started riding in 1979 while living in Los Angeles, rode for about two years, my bike being my only means of transportation. I moved back to Minnesota, my home state, sold the bike, and took about 30 years off from riding.  I began riding again a little over three years ago after our move south to Texas.  My bike is my primary means of transportation and every once and a while I get out on the roads of the hill country and just ride.  The first bike I owned was a Yamaha 250, mid 70's model, brown in color.  After a few weeks I realized it was far too small, top end was between 45 and 50 mph, that and the guys I worked with at Lucky Markets warehouse made fun.  My second bike was a 1979 Yamaha 650 Special, a thumper, quick, light, economical, red in color.

After living in the great white north for many years, we moved to suburban Austin over 10 years ago, and my colleague drove a big Kawasaki cruiser.  It was nice to be able to get on a bike again without going to a dealer, but being that it had been over 30 years....I wasn't ready to turn the key.  When the gas prices went up in the mid to late part of 2008, I looked around for a 400cc scooter, even put money down and waited for delivery.  Fortunately there was a snag in the production or importation of the scooter, and after a month of waiting, I started looking around.  I discovered I could get a new 2007 Suzuki S40, (LS650) for less than the scooter, so I bought it.  Since then, got my riding legs back and I've traded up.  After 6 months, I sold the S40 and bought a 2003 Suzuki Intruder VS800, for about $1500 below trade value, I love Craig's List...  About 4 months later I sold the 800 for more than I paid and bought a 2003 Suzuki Intruder VS1400 with only 1700 miles on it.  This time I paid about $2500 below trade value, thanks again to Craig's List.  I love being right side up in a vehicle.... Kept the 1400 for a little over a year, put on 7000 miles and then sold it, for a bit more than I paid :)  I wanted to get more of a highway bike/cruiser with fuel injection and a sixth gear, so I purchased a new 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Classic which I love!!  I've named my bike 'Spock', I've added ISO black grips, floorboard mounted retro highway pegs, saddle bags, Mustange seat, back rest, black throttle boss, windshield, Cobra 4" Slip On Exhaust, and Cobra Fi2000 Power Pro fuel processor, chrome speedo cowl, chrome horn cover, kuryakyn passenger pegs, Cobra Light Bar, Vulcan windshield and backrest emblems,......
