Returning to the road at 51, along with many Aussies that miss the freedom.

My VSTAR 950 does it for me.

A little about me, well I live on a bump that someone called a mount just north of Mt Dandenong (biggest hill near Melbourne) with my wife & 2 boys (25 & 16) been happy together for 30+ years livin our dream.

I've been riding since I was a young teen, stared on a station out the back of Topar in western NSW on a Suzuki (bitsa) 185.

1st bike was a Kwaka Z-250, had fun but I remember it was soooo under powered lol 'it wouldn't have pulled the skin of a Rice pudding'

2nd & 3rd were Honda SL 250's, used them daily until I broke one and did my ankle on the other.

4th & 5th were Suzuki PE250's model T & Z, they were great fun off road but handled like 'a wet sock' on road so...

6th bike was a Honda VF-250FA, Vtwin rocket shed (for a 4 banger anyway), I had the most fun on it while working as a courier I was one of the score takers for the Australia Games in Melbourne 1980.

Of course I sold it for a deposit on our 1st house and that was the end of my regular riding for about 23 years!

Now I'm back and feelin like a kid again (although wiser about riding) and will be doing 100k's a day for work.

I read not long ago that it is NOT refered to as a "mid-life crisis" but a new direction and a change for the better, I for one am feeling a lot more alive.
