About me:

I'm a Carpenter and I live in Riverstone, a small rural outer suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Where you can ride motorcycles all year round. I've been riding and owned motorcycles since the day I was old enough to get my learner's permit. Which was in February 1973,That makes for 38 years of riding experience. I bought my first bike a 1972 Honda CB250 K4 the same day I got my learner's permit and I've still got that bike today, although its a basket case now ! I bought a 1978 Honda CBX1000/6 in 1980 and I still have that bike too. A couple of years ago I bought a few more bikes; an immaculate 1970 Honda K1 750/4, and an average condition 1971 Honda K3 250, and another immaculate one owner 1972 Honda CB250 K4, and an immaculate low mileage 1973 Honda CB350G.................(I know...I'm stuck in the 70's and on Honda's) and finally in late 2009 I bought a 2008 Honda VTX1800C and this is the nicest and most comfortable bike I've ever ridden.Up until five years ago when I was fifty years old, I never liked the Cruiser style motorbike and I thought I would never own a "Cruiser," but when I started to get Arthritis in my lower back and hips and found it difficult to ride my bikes and I thought I would have to stop riding because of it,until I realised I could ride a Cruiser with Forward Controls with no difficulty at all.Now I love this type of bike and I'm kicking myself for not getting into them along time ago.

When I first started riding,My bike was my only mode of transport, so I used to ride everyday in all kinds of weather for about a decade. After that I got married and had a family,so I only rode periodically. But now, being a Self Employed Carpenter I have to transport my tools of trade from job to job in a work vehicle, so I only get to ride on weekends with my girlfriend "Ruby" and only when the weather is fine.So that makes me a "Fair Weather Rider" and I don't care, cause it takes too much time to clean and polish all that Chrome on my VTX.

I'm always interested in checking out the bike shops for my next acquisition to add to my bike collection..............maybe another Honda.I've only recently been interested in Harley- Davidsons and they have a lot of different models, but I haven't found one that's as nice and as comfortable as my VTX ............So I'll keep lookin'.

Update: May 2011.....I just acquired my first Harley-Davidson.......It's a 2007 FXSTSSE, Springer, Softail, Screamin'Eagle, CVO, 110 cubic inch, 1800cc and what a beautiful bike she is. It really does have the WOW factor, Although I love my new Harley, my Honda VTX 1800C is a better bike on most levels......It's a tough decision on which bikes to ride when the weather's fine.

Keep the shiny side up..............Regards.............Peter.
