Iam retired from navy, working on second career. Our child has finally decided to fly the coup. So now my wife and I have alot of alone time. She forgot that when we were a young couple struggling financially and i sold my motorcyle for badly needed money. I promised I would not by another untill our child graduated from high school. He graduated may of 06. I bought US a motorcycle for our anniversary present June of 06 Well thats what I told her any way. Notice the emphisis on us, even though she didnt see it that way at first (lol). I started with a vstarr 1100 to get used to riding again, for some reason my wife didnt get on for several months dont know why, but after no scratches, bumps or bruises she finally rode and she has since changed her mind and loves to ride. We have no animals or other living creatures to care for so off we go every chance we get. It has been an adjustment as empty nesters, but now our son comes home and rides with us ocassionally since he has taken up motorcyle riding and can afford his own. Dad bought the first car, but son has to buy his own toys(lol). I road the vstar for a year then upgraded to the roadstar its funny as the bikes get bigger the trips get longer. The bike seems to be a good stress reliver because when my wife senses im getting a little tense and irritable, She says: why dont you go for a ride, gosh i love that woman. So now we are mid life motorcycle riders and loving every minute of it.
