I immigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1999 from the Philippines. An accountant and banker by profession, my present occupation is Postal Delivery Officer. I had this full U-Turn from my previous occupation of Bank Manager to a Postman for the love of motorcycles. I finally got sick and tired of being contained in a four-wall room, sedentary, pencil-pushing and just talking to and pleasing pampered bank clients for about 25 years. My dad bought me my first motorbike in 1971. It was a Yamaha Enduro 90cc HT1 dirt bike. I used to do flat track oval and motocross racing on this bike with a racing kit installed.

I totally stopped riding when I entered into my first and only banking career after college in July of 1972. I came back to riding in 1991 after almost 20 years of dormancy, this time with my first bigger cc bike, the 1984 Honda NV400 custom which is the Japanese version of the Shadow 400. This was followed by a 1985 US version Virago 1000; 1991 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster Hugger; 1985 Australian version Virago 1000 bought in NZ; 1998 Dragstar 650 custom Euro version and at present the 2001 V-Star 1100 Classic.

In 1991, I became a member of the "On-Any-Sunday-Riders" Motorcycle Club, a pioneer Big Bikers Club in Davao city, Philippines, the largest city in the world in terms of area. I co-founded the "Kagay-anon Krusers" Motorcycle Club in 1998 as its charter president in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. In December 2004, the Maharlika Riders Sydney was formed with six original charter members. This is the first and only Filipino-Australian duly registered Motorcycle Club in Australia. The then infant motorcycle club entrusted me the coffers of the group as its charter treasurer, a position I held to-date.

Quality time for me is when I'm on the open road, at early dawn, alone on my bike, cruising to and from work in fine weather for around 38 kms return.

Now, at 58 I feel so blessed that I can still ride for an average of 5-6 hours daily, socially and at work delivering the mails.
