A "forty something" that hasn't ridden a bike since I was a "twenty something". Some bad choices kept from getting back here till now.
My rides are first a (now twice) restored 1983 VT750C Shadow basket case. Actually one of two '83 basketcases. Have two - used parts of the worst to restore the other. That and because of the age of the bike had to use a few "other sources" to rebuild it. Nickname is "Lil' Tam" after my wife.
The second is a 2002 Shadow A.C.E. Deluxe dressed in Black (The VT750CDA Variant). Got this from an insurance settlement when "Lil Tam' and myself got caught in a "Right-of-Way" violation by a "CAGER"
Lil' Tam took a beating and so did I - but -not as much as Lil' Tam. Got enough to pay the Doc., Rebuild Lil' Tam and get the ACE.
Oh, BTW, the ACE's nickname is ACE.
I was in the USAF during the Carter Administration just after the Vietnam War. Other than for Basic at San Antonio and Tech at Lowry at Denver; the rest of my time in service was spent overseas - Kunsan AB, Korea and Clark AB, PI. Both places were still flying F4 Phantoms when I was in.
Worked as a mechanic at Dad's shop until he died, then went to work again as a mechanic for my brother up in Kansas. Then got a job as a material handler aka fork lift driver and so on and so on...
My ride preferences are Harley's and Honda Shadows. However, can't afford the Harley yet - so the Shadow.
