Happiness is over, cant ride my bike anymore. Passing summer was super and 10.000 miles on gauge, its more than i never have rided during the past summers. Now i have time to customize my new VN2000 with some lovely chrome parts from CC, there`s few orders in and the first delivery came here today.
I cant stand this darkness during this time of the year, its so cold and when leaving the work its dark and coming to work its dark again. We had snow allready few inches, but it all melted after two weeks showers.
Something must be done and fortunately i have bowling, which is my number one hobby on winter time. I started that hobby the same time than my riding in 2004. My scoring averige is 192 and have told to everyone when reaching M-level (highest ranking) i stop the whole thing. My age maybe is obstacle to that dream, but people must have dreams to gain success, no matter what it is.
I will introduce my bike to you after attaching the new parts on it.
All the best to all of you and safe rides

Today I sat here reading the comments about vets here and I started thinking about my dad. He passed a few years ago and I never really knew about his flying time during WW11, so, I went and read his logbooks. He flew Lancaster bombers and the part he told my sisters and I about had to do with flying Transport Command which was flying bombers from Canada to Great Britan. That is how he met my mom, him flying out of Montreal and her building bombs in Montreal. They flew these planes stripped to the bone, no comforts, insulation or guns, they were sitting ducks in the air.
Now the really interesting part, he also flew on some of the first bombing missions over Berlin. Anyone every see the movie "The dam busters"? If you ever get to see it, pay attention to the names listed at the end of the movie, it's based on a true story and my dad was one of those flyers!!! In his log books he lists the practice flights how they dropped bags of flour for precision bombing.
My dad never bragged about what he did, seldom even mentioned it. That is the attitude of vets, then and now, not asking for thanks or praise for doing what they thought right. In Canada it is tradition to wear your parents medals on the opposite side of your chest from your own. I couldn't do it, there are way too many so I wear my own and in silence, thank my dad and those like him.
I never got to say goodbye to my dad or tell him I loved him or how proud I was of him. This is my homage to my dad.

I believe in going my own way no matter which way the rest of the world is going.
I believe in bucking the system that’s built to smash individuals like bugs on the windshield.
I believe in the man upstairs ...
and believe in sticking it to the man down here.
I believe in the sky, and I don’t believe in the sunroof.
I believe in freedom!
I believe in dust, tumbleweeds, buffalos, mountain ranges, and riding off into the sunset.
I believe in saddlebags, and I believe that cowboys had it right.
I believe in refusing to knuckle under to anyone.
I believe in wearing black because it doesn’t show any dirt … or weakness.
I believe the world is going soft … but I’m not going along with it.
I believe in motorcycle rallies that last a week.
I believe in roadside attractions, gas station hot dogs, and finding out what’s over the next hill.
I believe in rumbling engines, pistons the size of garbage cans, fuel tanks that were designed in 1936, freight train sized headlights, chrome and custom paint.
I believe in flames and skulls.
I believe life is what I make of it … and I make it one hell of a ride.
I believe the machine I sit on tells the world exactly where I stand.
I don’t care what everyone else believes.

Well hello from France, those of you who are reading one of my postings for the first time ( sorry ) for those of you that have read before ( you knew what you would get ).
Here we are in the 10 th month of 2009 and things are not getting any better, just to bring the probes up to speed ( legal limit ), Pam my wife and she said I could say that I am the BOSS, (it looks better) and I moved from the UK to France in 1984, changed our lifestyle and way of living ( for the better ), not really thinking about the advancing years and the problems that come, YES, got a job trucking all over Europe ( great but weeks away from home ), got a job in what you call a Truck Stop in the USA, yes I knew the Boss and family as was a client for a couple of years before starting there ( Super Job Long Hours but kept the smell of 18 wheelers in my system) Pam and I started around 1987 01 01, built up a run down shop and gas station to a thriving shop and still a good gas station ( we used to get sometimes 2 refills a day on Diesel it was a good stop for all as on the SPAIN <<>> Germany/ England route. Things went good the wages kept us going and we could slowly make are home.
THEN the SH** hit the FAN, Good BOSS sold out to a NEW BOSS, he seemed to be OK, but the bed of roses soon became bed of thorns, the wife left the job cutting down on the income, but she started working for the Gendarmerie National as a translator, but the work was like working for the army, paid you when they used you. I continued with the Bad BOSS stressing out day by day ( no I never shot the guy ) till in 2006 after 19 years went on sick leave, money was tight but after all the mist cleared and visits to the hospital, doctors and all I was put out as an Invalid, so there we go 21 years in the same job, here comes the curved ball, in France when you are 60 years old( laws at the time ) you retire in theory, so that day came 22 years and 4 months and then ZERO, you become RETIRED.
As retired your pension is based on the best 20 years wages and then this and that, fine if I had been in France and worked for 40 years all would have fell into place ( little but just enough ), but NO I started work at 15 in the UK and worked till I left the UK in 1984, so my first part of qualification in England and the French bit together would make up my pension, OH S--- the French pay out at 60 or later it depends, the English don’t depend they don’t anything till you are 65, well it don’t need a high school diploma to see 60 and 65 don’t correspond, so 60-65 little from France until 65 when England chips in, since my 60th birthday I lost nearly 700 Euro in benefits and its hard.
I have heard it said that a trouble shared is a trouble halved, so sorry by sharing it with all you I should have no PROBLEM, Thanks all for reading my ramblings and I do feel a little better for typing this morning not that will change anything, you work like a ********* all your life to find at the END you have what you started with Zero but you have gained a lot of FRIENDS.
May who or what you believe in keep you and yours

Do all of you find the peace of sweeping gently through curves and floating down the straight away as rewarding as I do? I found motorcycles in the 60's. My first ride as a passenger was on the back of my cousins' Honda 450 Hawk. I knew that I would own a bike one day. Four Yamahas, one Honda and a BWM later, I purchased my V Star 1100. I instantly relax just sitting in the saddle. It fits me well and feels like a friend after one year together. I don't ride fast... I cruise. The fast bikes were my youth. I am older, wiser and more content now just to experience the sensations of riding. No radio or cell phone. Just the wind in my face and my thoughts. Well, there is also the necessary vigilance that goes with riding, but it's a peaceful awareness. Your bike is like your life. Enjoy the ride, you reach the end soon enough.
There I was enjoying a nice ride in the countryside - when I was pulled over! The cop says "I'm not stopping you for speeding on that nice cycle sonny - just for flying too low"! Wise ass me thought. While he's filling in the book he looks over into the field next to us and says "why has that cow got a ring through its nose?" I said "coz it would look stupid around its ankle!" He then says "Ismell alcohol off your beath!" "Give me a breath test" I said "I can't - I'm asthmatic" He says "OK I'll take you down to the stations and get a urine test" I said "I can't - kidney problems" He = "OK - a blood test?" Me - "nope - I'm a haemophilliac" He says "OK walk along the middle of that white line in the road" I said "I can't" "why not?" he says "Because I'm pissed drunk as a fart" I said and thankfully my dad arrived in the mothership and the next thing I knew I was home.
Boring day again.

Check out this story from www.PowersportsBusiness.com. They have put together this neat article about the 2010 Victory Motorcycle line-up. Take a look: Victory moves to grow its touring presence with its 2010 lineup |

Victory Motorcycles is adding four new models for its 2010 lineup, two of which are designed specifically for the touring segment and two more to add to the brand’s lower price-point offerings.
“While we and all of our key competitors are facing huge economic headwinds right now, we clearly want to position the business — for Polaris and our Victory dealers — to regain growth in retail sales and market share, as the market stabilizes and starts to grow again,” said Mark Blackwell, Polaris Industries’ vice president of motorcycles. Victory moved to grow its retail presence by not only expanding its touring lineup but also taking steps to make its cruisers more appealing to a wider audience and by introducing technology on its premium models that could draw the higher-end crowd. “If you’re a classic cruiser rider, if you’re a custom cruiser rider, if you’re a performance cruiser rider, Victory now has a bike for you,” Gary Gray, Victory’s product manager, said at the unveiling. Victory’s new models include:

Kyle aka: manybikes
One freelancer took this photo when i met him by accident infront of one cafe. He wanted to make a story about my bike and me to a local newspaper. Next wednesday i may see what he has written?
Just to say "Thank you Theresa" (Daycaremama).
She keeps (or get back) in ours minds that the confidence is the ingredient number one in the accidents.
Again thanks Theresa.
I'm proud to count with friends like you
I'm an accountant, a CPA actually. I didn't see myself becoming an accountant when I was younger, but then who does? It's rather surprising how many people go into accounting, when the profession is completely in left field for kindergartners.Yet it's an essential part of the business world and many of the most powerful people, CEOs of major corporations, got their start in accounting.
Being an accountant definitely has its perks. I feel a certain sense of job security, given the current economic climate. Compared with a lot of the guys I graduated college with, I'm sitting pretty easy at the moment. I'll admit that accounting isn't for everyone. If someone in college came to me and asked me if they should go into accounting, I would tell them to do what they love. I don't think that anybody truly loves accounting (because if you do, then there's probably something out there that you would love even more). But for people who don't know what they want, if they can really get into accounting and get some sense of pleasure, purpose, and accomplishment out of it, I can't recommend any other job or lifestyle over it.
The drawbacks of accounting are plenty. Especially as an entry-level associate, the hours can be long, for both tax and audit tracks. The corporate climate of being in the "Big 4" can be stifling at times. Then there's the necessary CPA exam followed by the CPA CPE continuing education. I feel like the outcome is better than the alternative though. I love what I do and I plan on doing it for several more years. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
