For those of you who are interested in the final result of the oil filter relocation kit install, here's some pictures of my bike with it installed.
You can see the chrome filter cover just peeping over the exhaust pipe there. I was a bit worried that all that chrome might look out of place on my black bike, but I think it looks really nice down there.
One thing I was worried about was people said that the area which was covered by the vanity plate with the YAMAHA logo would look bad because it was under the plate. A little bit of Mr Sheen (Aussie furniture polish) and it came up like there was never anything there
You can see the hoses in the picture (right). I was initially worried that they would not fit because when I held it against the bike I could not see how they would. I bought the normal length hoses that came with the kit, but they fit perfectly as you can see.
The oil filter itself is tucked up under the front. I'll have to see how it goes with crap flicking up from the road onto the chrome I guess.
All in all, I'm very happy with the results. Now I have to wait to put another 5,000 kms on her so I can do the next oil change myself!

I think it looks really good - it's not really obvious though. In any case, here's to simpler oil changes!

OK, I've been searching and searching for a rear fender rack for my 07 750 Shadow Aero. Here's the problem. I put a Mustang seat on the bike this fall and I LOVE IT !! BUT.........I can't seem to find a rear fender rack that is compatable with the Mustang seat. Every rack I've found is made to fit with the stock seat. There are some comments/reviews in the parts sections that tell you how to modify the racks to fit, or how to just "jam it under the seat", but I'd really rather have one that is made to fit. Less hassle, less chance of me wrecking it, when I do the install. I really don't want to get into drilling new holes in the fender to install a rack.
Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas or feedback ?
I just wanted to thank all of my CC friends who posted kind words of encouragement, tips, and insight into my mechanical disability in installing a sissy bar all by myself!
I'm posting a new picture of my bike in its current state...it changes all the time (I'm still finding "my" look).
It took all of 30 minutes today - something I couldn't do in two hours on Sunday!
Ya'll are the best!
Marianne
I just bought a sissy bar for my bike and received it a couple of weeks ago. No problem, I thought to myself, I'll have this done in no time.
Well, the rains came and my bike was filthy, so the next nice weekend I'll detail my bike and put on my sissy bar.
I spent four hours today, trying to clean, polish, wax and install...the clean, polish and wax went fine. The sissy bar is still in the box.
I tried...I really did! My fingers are sore from messing with those stupid bolts. Finally got the bracket on the right side - man, I'm moving now (after an hour!).
The left side was a complete disaster. After an hour, one bolt won't seat right no matter what I do. I just took off the successfully installed bracket, tightened down the bolts on the other side the best I could (with one still sticking out about 1/4"), tested to make sure I hadn't screwed anything else up and put my bike up,
I did remove my curved luggage rack and put my 2-up seat back on.
It just frustrates me that I try so hard to be self-sufficient but I failed so miserably.
So I admit it...I couldn't do it TODAY!
Maybe next weekend...

Hello from France.
Its funny but when the heads of state get together they sometimes dont agree, and you think what a ********* that guy is, I have been into radio since the 60's and was a SWL, CB'er and then Pam and I passed our Ham Licence, she went through first time and I had to resit.
Well on the radio everybody is a sound coming out of a speaker and at first its a new contact ( great ), after chatting to him or her you find out about who where and when, its amazing you dont know more than you are told and you accept that and you are happy. I have made contacts with some really special people but not knowing at the time and with bikers two wheels and a leather jacket over a cup of coffee and we are happy, not knowing what he or she does in the run of the mill way of life,no doubt some of you have met people and never dreamed that you would sit down a crack open a beer with them.
Well my latest contact which is great is that I have had a mail from KING of AMERICA, I have had contacts all over but never from him.
You dont know who you are joking with some of the time
.HAVE A NICE DAY

Sometimes … not often mind you … but sometimes … you can actually change the official “stand” of a major company to admit that they don’t know everything about a product they sell.
The super streamlined and cool looking windscreen on my motorbike is manufactured by National Cycle and it’s called the “Plexistar 2”. They have always produced a fine line of products, and from my experience, they have always been of first rate quality.
I originally saw this magnificent windshield on a Honda Shadow and I truly loved it! It's a very "cool" aerodynamic design … sleek and slick … complete with hand-wings to protect the hands from wind and bugs going down the road. I wrote to National Cycle to ask if it would fit my 3rd Generation Magna.
Their answer?
"No!"
I went back to my buddy's motorbike where I had seen the wind screen in the first place and carefully measured the shield. I measured the headlight opening, the height, width, everything! Again I wrote to National Cycle ... and telling them of my careful measurements ... asked again if it would fit the Magna.
Their answer again?
"No!"
This time though, they advised that I could buy the shield if I wanted to despite the fact that it would not fit. They indicated they would not guarantee that it would fit ... and would charge me a $25.00 "restocking fee ... so as they put it, “Let the buyer beware".
Well, I ordered it ... and the thing fits as if it was designed for the Magna ... and I sent them photographs to prove it!
Now … all of a sudden … I see that it’s advertised as fitting the Sabre AND the Magna!
They should pay me a commission! LOL!
(Point of fact though … the Magna has a 1” handlebar and the windscreen comes with a 7/8” mount … so be sure if you’re ordering this for a Magna, you specify that you will need the 1” mounts!)
At ElectroSport they want to make sure that you get exactly what you want. The stage 2 is their mid-range kit. This is for the riders who want the best but don't want to break the bank in doing so. ElectroSport Industries 4300K H4 Motorcycle 1 Bulb HID Kit, Moving High/Low Beam
The HID bulb included in this kit has an actuator that switches the bulb between high and low beam. The stage 2 kit comes complete with high/low single capsule HID bulb, slim profile ballast, wiring extenders, and all the hardware you need to install the kit. Detailed and easy to follow instructions that doesn't require a Ph.D to decipher.

Progressive Springs 412 series fitted last 2 weeks 10.10.09, removal and installation was real easy if u can find the right sleeve that goes into the hole on top of springs, somehow i notice my bike have a different screws that hangs on the frame of the bike, the nut used is rather large, gotta use a 22mm box wrench remove and install the springs and the nuts looked ugly. When i checked for nuts that featured in most of OEM catalogue it would show both the top and bottom nuts that secure the springs are of same size, searched 1986 to 2006 models non match my bike, weird.
The ride was much improved but have not find the right setting for the new shocks, have to wait till other parts arrive to do more riding. Order a pair of mirrors, overlooked the adapters, cant fit. Currently, bike without mirror. Ordered adapters with other things, overlooked the adapters again instead of 1 pair the ordered came out 1 unit. Put in another order, costly and time wasted (since i gotta reship to M'sia). Same problem happened last order put in order for 2 horn cover only 1 unit was delivered and biiled.
So bike hanging as unfinished business. Cant wait to get my new jacket River Road Hoodlum, complete my mirrors and horn assemblies. Get out and ride and test the spring/shocks.
Will add picture once completed the current project.
Need more stuffs?????
