After reading some of the blog posts, I started wondering, Do you wave to other bikers? If you do, what kind of wave do you do? I give the low wave to any biker I see. I even wave to scooters and 4 wheelers. I also give a wave to cops and military vehicles. If I'm stopped at a light or stop sign, I give the other bikers a nod.
Not everyone waves around here, but you see a lot of riders who do wave. Most give the low wave or a nod.
This is for all the men out there on CC. What is your preference.....Is it to have your lady riding with you on the back of your cycle, or is it for her to be riding along side of you on her own cycle? And why? ~Vstargrl~

U guys r great don't get me wrong, I really enjoy talking 2, just wondering where the female riders r :) Come out, come out where ever u r, I don't bite unless provoked :)
Before last week I would say, sometimes. But my mind was changed Monday, June 22,2009 at 8:57pm. I got a call that is and always has been the most feared of any parent. That your child has been in an accident! Now let me start from the beginning. my oldest son & daughter-inlaw decided to take her fathers "Harley" for an evening "cruise" and had left thier two daughters with the wife & me to watch. I was to meet them at thier house to drop off the grandkids on my way to work at 9. After arriving at almost 9pm and finding no one home I get "the call". It's my son telling me he & his wife have just had a wreck! Instinctively, I ask if they are alright? He says no. I ask: Where are you guys? I don't know, it just happened. By this time I'm frantic, Iask if the police or ambulance are there" No, he says, but as I stand there "speechless" I hear voices over the phone asking: "Are you alright? Is anyone hurt? Afterwards my son says he's on County road 259 & then hangs up. Here I stand with my two grand-daughters in the car, thinking what I should do! My mind is blurred with terrible images & thoughts. I fianally take grip and decide to take the grandkids back to my house and have my wife care for them while try to find my son and D-inlaw. As I search the countryside looking for the "crash site" I recieve a phone call from my brother-inlaw saying he heard of the accident and was there and gave me directions. By the time I arrived, everyone, I mean son, daughter-inlaw, police, fire-rescue, & motorcycle were gone. I then get a phone call from my wife saying her brother had called and said the "kids" were on thier way to the hospital. When I got there I found my son in one "emergency room" covered from head to toe with the worst case of "ROAD RASH" i had ever saw. My daughter-inlaw wasn't so lucky. See, neither one had on helmets, it's not cool! But they did have on thier "Okley's(sunglasses) When my daughter-inlaw's head hit the pavement her sunglass frames broke and drove the earpiece through the side of her cheek just under and behind her left eye. Luckly; she didn't loose her site! But she will have to have plastic surgery! Now the rest of her life, my "beautiful" daughter-inlaw will be reminded of that night the rest of her life each time she looks into a mirror! As for my son, he too; learned a valuable lesson. He told me that when he lost control in "loose gravel" and layed the bike over, he started rolling over & over toward a Road Sign. ANd all he could think of, was "what will become of my two little girls"? And then he hit the sign. My son is 6ft2 & wieghs around 245lbs and played defensive back in highschool & was "county all-star" player. He told me he had never tackled anybody that hurt as much as that sign did when he hit it "dead on".(bent road sign over with force of his body hitting it)! I'll end this story on a "happy note" both are out of hospital (still very sore) and say they will never ride without protective equipment again and I don't mean Okley's! As for me and my wife, we never ride without Helmets and the wife, since the kids accident, wears "chaps".
Let's have a thought for PioneerGirl and FreeBear : the funnier, the cream of the joke and the cutest couple onCCC and all over the World LOL . Everybody know them here for sure LOL and what I suggest today, and together is to say us how we love them lol : " WE LOVE U PG & FB !!!! " .
Hoppe you'll continue to give us many fun with your legendary fight and great imagination to make us laught... LOL
A little background on me first. I always wanted a motorcycle but my mom was/is extremely anti-motorcycle so I never got one while at home. Finally about 2 years ago I bought myself a ZRX1100 crotch rocket and learned how to ride it. (up to that point I had never even sat on a motorcycle). Had a few close calls and scared myself so I parked it in the garage for 2 months and was scared to ride it. Finally had a friend come over and teach me the safe and proper way to work the clutch and throttle. Also took the state safety class (best $150 I ever spent). Rode the crotch rocket for about a year and then traded it in for my current Vulcan 1600 which I love.
Now to the advise part. My wife has no interest in riding. I want her to come ride with me and the guys and eventually I want to get her a small bike and ride together. How do I go about getting her past the "motorcycles will kill you" phase and come along for a ride? How did you guys get your wives involved in riding? Or is it just something that they either have or dont?
I guess I couldn't leave well enough alone, so I sent a little tease letter to "Naomi". Uhhh... This is a bit explicit, so if you are not into foul language, pass this one up! But wait... I did post the letter here, but I decided to pull it cuz it was really foul. It basically called Mr. Naomi every name in the book and a couple more that I just made up, daring him to respond. Odds are I will get nothing more. However, I expect every single scam email that is floating around cyberspace to end up in my inbox. However, if it gets a response, I will put that up!
Nutz. I guess Naomi found someone richer and hotter than me (easy to do). I have heard nothing more from her so I guess this is a dead thread. Bummer. I was so looking forward to summer days on the Ivory Coast with her.
I think I am going to write back to dear, sweet Naomi (with a bogus yahoo email account created just for this) and keep posting the replies. Now that ought to be worth a few more giggles! Stand by!......
Oh my gawd! I am laughing my a$$ off after reading through dear sweet Naomi reply email! This is freakin great! Let's see; Dead wealthy father, wicked stepmother. She is living in a refugee camp with no electricity, no running water. Pleadng for UN asylum, which does not exist. Poor girl. I have just got to help her! ROFLMAO!
I suppose it is so difficult to live under those circumstances especially when you have plug your COMPUTER into a Rhino's a$$ to to power it up and climb a Giraffe's neck to get your cell phone broadband DSL line to work. Yes indeed, Naomi is entitled to $2.7 million and wants me to help her get it, rewarding me hansomly for my efforts. Here's the best part::: She sent me pictures of herself, but they were of two different women! Oh yes, and a love note card, too! I will create a response to her and send it out tomorrow. Fear not, my intreped brothers and sisters: Everything will be posted. Anyway, here's the letter she sent me this time and my response is immediately below it.
Greetings my dear.
How are you doing today. i hope everything is ok with you. Thanks so much for your response. I know that this mail will not come to you as a surprise since we have not had a previous correspondence, please bear with me. i will really like to have a good relationship with you, and i have a special reason why i decided to contact you.
I decided to contact you because of the urgency of my situation here, and after reading your profile. I am Miss Naomi Desmond Ukeh 23 years old girl from Liberia, the only daughter of Late Dr. Desmond Ukeh. my late father was the former deputy minister of national security under the leadership of president Charles Taylor who is now in exile after many innocent soul were killed in my country Liberia, My father was killed by government of Charles Taylor, He accused my father of coup attempt.
I am constrained to contact you because of the maltreatment i am receiving from my step mother. She planned to take away all my late father's treasury and properties from me since the unexpected death of my beloved Father.
Meanwhile i wanted to escape to the Europe but she hide away my international passport and other valuable traveling documents. Luckily she did not discover where I kept my late fathers File which contains important documents.
So I decided to ran away to the refugee camp where I am presently seeking asylum under the United Nations High Commission for the Refugees here in Dakar Republic of Senegal, I wish to contact you personally for a long term business relationship and investment assistance in your Country.
My late father of blessed memory deposited the sum of (US$ 2,7m) in one of the leading bank in Europe with my names as the next of kin. But meanwhile you should not allow any other person to know about this money since my late father did not disclose it with any body rather do they know about the valuable documents .
I have informed the bank about my plans of transferring the money to me here in african to start a new life but i don't know that my late father have an agreement with the bank.that i should be up to 30 years of age before i will have direct access to the money.if not then i should provide my partner to stand for me as my trustee to the bank so the bank will make the transfer into my partners account.
However, I shall forward you with the necessary documents on confirmation of your acceptance to assist me for the transfer of the money to your account, and I will like you to help me invest the money in your country, and i will also like to complete my studies, as i was in my 1st year in the university when the crisis started,It is my intention to compensate you with 20% of the total money for your assistance and the balance shall be my investment capital. This is the reason why I decided to contact you. Please all communications should be through this email address only for save and confidential purposes.
As soon as I receive your positive response showing your interest I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above, I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely.
You can not call me on phone because i have no phone here in the refugee camp, but there is a church here in the camp. where i can receive yours calls. if you care to call me, it is the Reverend priest phone Number here in the camp, Please when you call , tell him that you want to speak with Miss Naomi the Liberian girl in female hostel room 101.then he will send for me to answer your call,
This is the Rev priest phone number +221-76-562-44-37. Please I am waiting for your urgent and positive response. Please do keep this only to yourself, please i beg you not to disclose it to anyone until i come over to join you immediately the fund is transferred into your account.
Thanks hoping to hear from you soon,
Attached here is my picture
Yours faithfully Naomi
And this is what I wrote back to her.. him... it.
Dearest Naomi,
My heart goes out to you. It saddens me greatly that you should have to live in such horrible surroundings with no electricity and no potable water, living in tortuous conditions and squallor. I understand how terribly alone you must feel especially since you have no trustworthy relatives to turn to. I am especially appalled by your step mother being as wicked as a witch of the west. Naomi, I received your pictures and the wonderful e-card you sent along with your last note. How anyone could treat you badly is beyond me. But you said I could help... What can I do to rescue you from your miserable life? You mentioned transferring a large sum of money to my account to give to you when you reached Europe. I would be happy to do so, but you would owe me nothing. I don't need a half million dollars for helping you as I am quite comfortable as I am. I will do this for you as a gesture of kindness. Tell me what I can do to assist you. Receiving your letters made me feel so nice inside. Anything I can do to return the favor is at your request.
I would love to be your "penpal". You seem to be such a kind lady and it would be nice to have a new friend even if a half a world away.
There isn't much to say about myself. I am getting up there in years and here in America, a lady like you wouldn't give me the time of day.
Motorcycling is my first passion. I have a personal collection of over 30 bikes in my shop. The down side is that they don't keep me warm at night. Yes, I do live alone and have for over two years now. The house I have at this point is way too big for me. That is why your message of sincerety caught my attention. I also travel now and then whenever I feel I need a vacation. How you got my email address is a mystery to me. But, I am glad you did. I hope you will send a few pictures of yourself and your city.
Not much else to say. I hope to hear from you soon.
Biker Bob
I have been sitting here trying to recover from an acute case of the giggles. I received the following message through my account right here in beautiful downtown CruiserCustomizing.com:
From: a former member. Sent: 6 hours ago Subject: hi
Message:
hello my dear, Hai,am Naomi (naomi.badu@yahoo.com) I have the feeling that this piece of mail will reach you in a perfect state of mind and in a better healthy condition. While searching through the net, I came accross your contact address at(cruisercustomizing.com) and decided to contact you. I believe and also have the feeling that in todays world, neither race, nationality nor religion will any longer posse a barrier to male/female relationships. Although, we do not know each other well but I will really like to have you as a friend or pen pal if that is better for you.I am a single lady currently liveing in West Africa. While I hope to hear from you soon, and also look forward to receiving some information concerning you, your family, country and even your personal life experiences. This will give us the opportunity of knowing each other better and be able to understand ourselves more.Remeber the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life. May God bless you as I wait to hear from you soon through this email address. (naomi.badu@yahoo.com) i hope you write with love.
please do write to my personal id at (naomi.badu@yahoo.com) where i can send you my picture and tell you more about myself. yours Naomi,
I gotta admit that Naomi has a sweet manner about her and she is truly interested in becomming my penpal when she receives my "warm, fuzzy" letter telling her all about my family. I am sure she will by sympathetic when I tell her that I am not rich, living on a fixed income (that hasn't shown up yet this month ) and down to my last... let's say I had $10 kilobucks left in my bank account (I wish). Why I am sure that she will offer me at least $30 million dollars if I send her my $10Large to help her get $100 million out of Nigeria. All I would have to do is give her my bank account numbers and.... Wait a minute... I've heard something about that somewhere... Naaaaa. Naomi couldn't possibly try to scam me. Actually she sounds like a non-judgmental equal opportunity phisherman.. er, phisherwoman. But what scares the hell out of me is that she sounds EXACTLY like my ex-wife. I think the ex used pretty much the same line on me when we first met. RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! (ROFLMAO!)
Be forewarned.... I seriously doubt that I'm done having fun with this one. I gotta bail right now, but I will be back. I just can't help it...
NAOMI
I think I am going to write back to dear, sweet Naomi and keep posting the replies. Now that ought to be worth a few more giggles! Stand by!......
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up,there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had itand how easy they've got it! But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library andlook it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter, with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! No where was safe! There were no MP3' s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. cause that's how we rolled dig? We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister! We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With gameslike 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels orscreens, it was just one screenforever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder andfaster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get offyour ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel!
There was noCartoon Network either! You could only get cartoonson Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEKfor cartoons, you spoiledlittle rat-bastards! And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heatsomething up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that! That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!
and just for Phil,
we had NO FM or Digital Radio only AM radio. No Digital TV, NO Plasma TV, NO 60" Wide Screen TV's and NO 5:1 Surround Sound Entertainment Systems either only Stereos lol
was wondering since I went on a killer ride yesterday how we should be treating our brothers from the north who cant ride right now
send sympathy cards explaining that it will be ok
contact there wifes/girlfriends and tell them to excuse there behavior until spring
print detailed list of things to do to winterize your bike and reccomend board games and good movies to watch
totally rub it in there noses about what a great time we're having and lie about how fast the roads are how meandering the turns are and how great the girls are this time of year
these are just a few of my thoughts would like to know if any others have suggestions for our poor bro's from snowland!
I can't figure it out. Past couple of months I've been lookin at the CC member calendar. If you glide over the picture, the member profile link pops up. Click on the picture and it takes you to the member profile. Most pictures on the calendar are not posted in their profile? Some haven't signed in for over a month or two? If the pics are not uploaded from their profile and haven't signed in lately, where the heck did the pic come from?
Man are we a sad lot of 22 members? We have 322 media items (Next closest is about 93)! Uwe will cut this facility out coz WE SPEND TOO MUCH TIME IN HERE and NOT BUYIN' THOSE GREAT PRODUCTS! Nah, just kiddin'. We are pretty active for (mostly) old farts. I think Uwe should fly us all to the States for our annual general meeting! Guys/gals congratulations on your great work and contributions and all the laughs we've shared. Hope everyone has a great festive season and new year and we continue it all in 2009.
It has been a while and I must say I have really missed you all! Today is my first day back from the other side of the world... and I must say the trip was Amazing! I am sorry I was not able to post video and photo's or comments from the road as Internet was very tough to find! When possible, I updated facebook, but that ability was few and far between as well...
Now... I have over 3,000 photos and over 100 Gigabytes of Video to sort, play with, and share here with all of you!
Over the past weeks I have been able to see sights and ride roads I thought only existed in my dreams! But... now I know... perfect roads do exist... in Europe! Thousands of km's (miles to the rest of us) of perfect roads with the most specular views!
Over the next couple weeks I will be sharing with you adventures from the trip.
In short, this is what the trip consisted of...
8/23/2009 I boarded the airplane here in San Francisco California and flew to Chicago where I boarded the plane which delivered me to the Frankfurt, Germany Airport Monday afternoon.
8/24/2009 I was greeted at the airport my Uwe999 and Tracers! We fetched my luggage, loaded the car, and headed to the motorcycle shop to pick up my rental. Upon arrival at the shopI laid my eyes on a beautiful Black Kawasaki GTR 1400. Sweet! Uwe's bike was just coming out of service... so we sent Tracy on her way (in the car) and we took the bikes for the "long way home" visiting some sweet motorcycle roads. -- Hey! We had to break in the new tires... right? Upon arrival at Uwe's house, I was welcomed with open arms and a delicious BBQ! Wow.... Tasty! By the end of the night... I was sooooo tired I could hardly keep my eyes open!
8/25/2009 we woke and loaded the car so we could drop Tracers off at the airport. Sad times for sure! Once dropped off, we headed back to the house to clean, pre-trip inspection, and load the bikes for the morning departure.
8/26/2009 we (Uwe, Achiem, and I) saddled up and rode over to Thomas' house where we meet up with Machine. The five of us then took off to ride some of the best German roads in their area. The five of us road for the 26th and the 27th .... what a great time we had!
8/27/2009 to 9/4/2009 Uwe and I set off to conquer the French Alps! In the process, we rode the Alps in France, Italy, Switzerland, and Monaco. Every single day offered superb riding, awesome views, great food, and the meeting of neat neat people.
9/2/2009 was one of the trips best days as we got to meet for lunch and a ride with of Luuna800! What a pleasure! After leaving, Lunna800 sent me a fun text message: "Yesterday my mother passed us on the road and it's funny... she asked me, "Where did you go? Who are they?" I just said, "Just 2 nice American guys mum I meet on a great website." Thanks again Luuna800 for your time, it was a pleasure. PioneerGirl and FreeBear, I have a video for you I will shortly post...
Okay... I need to get this posted and get back to work work... but stay tuned for all of the upcoming stories and videos from the Alps Adventure!
While the trip was Amazing... It's Great to be back home!

Do you wave?
After reading some of the blog posts, I started wondering, Do you wave to other bikers? If you do, what kind of wave do you do? I give the low wave to any biker I see. I even wave to scooters and 4 wheelers. I also give a wave to cops and military vehicles. If I'm stopped at a light or stop sign, I give the other bikers a nod.
Not everyone waves around here, but you see a lot of riders who do wave. Most give the low wave or a nod.
new rider woes
As many of you know I just got my motorcycle license a few weeks ago.
I have only taken 2 short rides around town. On one of our rides around
town, I went through a yellow light and pulled to the side to wait for Uwe.
My first mistake was I was resting my right foot on the curb and when I
could see him in motion I tried to push off the curb. I then lost balance
of the bike and dropped it. I didn't get hurt but the bike got a little scratch.
I was nervous before and more nervous now. Any advice for new riders like
me to help get over fears of riding?
Men, what do you prefer?
This is for all the men out there on CC. What is your preference.....Is it to have your lady riding with you on the back of your cycle, or is it for her to be riding along side of you on her own cycle? And why? ~Vstargrl~

Is a Helmet Necessary?
As for me and my wife, we never ride without Helmets and the wife, since the kids accident,
wears "chaps".

Advise Needed from the old sch
A sweet something to Naomi...

Message:
hello my dear,
Hai,am Naomi
(naomi.badu@yahoo.com)
I have the feeling that this piece of mail will reach you in a perfect state of mind and in a better healthy condition.
I am sure she will by sympathetic when I tell her that I am not rich, living on a fixed income (that hasn't shown up yet this month
) and down to my last... let's say I had $10 kilobucks left in my bank account (I wish). RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! (ROFLMAO!)
NAOMI
I think I am going to write back to dear, sweet Naomi and keep posting the replies. Now that ought to be worth a few more giggles! Stand by!......
If you are 30 or older you wi
THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears
with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning
Uphill... barefoot...
BOTH ways
Yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay
a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!
But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of
thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.
You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my
childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!
There was no email!! We had to actually write
somebody a letter, with a pen!
You wanted to
steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!
If you
were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!
And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you
just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video
games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever!
And you could never win. The game just kept getting
harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel!
There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!
And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that!
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids
today have got it too easy.
You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted
five minutes back in 1980 or before!
and just for Phil,
we had NO FM or Digital Radio only AM radio. No Digital TV, NO Plasma TV, NO 60" Wide Screen TV's and NO 5:1 Surround Sound Entertainment Systems either only Stereos lol
Regards,
The over 30 Crowd
poll from south to north
From the cluttered desk of spike
was wondering since I went on a killer ride yesterday how we should be treating our brothers from the north who cant ride right now
totally rub it in there noses about what a great time we're having and lie about how fast the roads are how meandering the turns are and how great the girls are this time of year
these are just a few of my thoughts would like to know if any others have suggestions for our poor bro's from snowland!

CC Member calendar
I can't figure it out. Past couple of months I've been lookin at the CC member calendar. If you glide over the picture, the member profile link pops up. Click on the picture and it takes you to the member profile. Most pictures on the calendar are not posted in their profile? Some haven't signed in for over a month or two? If the pics are not uploaded from their profile and haven't signed in lately, where the heck did the pic come from?
Mid Life Crisis Media

What's up Community!?
In short... "The Alps were AMAZING!"
Upon arrival at the shop I laid my eyes on a beautiful Black
Kawasaki GTR 1400.

I look forward to meeting more of the members in the future.
We should all raise our glasses to Uwe and the cruiser customizing team for a job well done!!!
Ride Safe!!!!!!
