OK... so JAZZ got a Mustang, but it makes for a better title!
My new Mustang solo seat with driver backrest came in FedEx today. It took longer to argue with my husband that YES, it would fit properly, than it actually took for ME to install it. (He doesn't think that anything that doesn't say "Harley Davidson" should be on a Harley Davidson... I say they should have made one to fit MY bike!)
My biggest trick was getting the original seat off the Sporty. I cheated, and resorted to "RTFM ". No problem. The seat came with the mounting "nut" adapter, but uses the original bolt. All well and good, except I was also installing the Motherwell solo luggage rack that I also found on eBay... and IT didn't come with bolts.
Again, no problem! I am a pack-rat, and dug in my parts bins until I found a bolt that would fit. So it's black and not chrome... but I can find the right one on my next trip to Home Depot.
I had to take her out for a ride... Just to make sure the backrest was where I needed the support, and you want to talk about SWEET?? I had to adjust the pad a little bit forward to make up for the fact that my butt sits a bit further back than my lower back does. Good, because when I wear a jacket with extra bulk, I can adjust for that just by turning a thumb screw.
I think it looks very sharp, but I'll wait 'til daylight to get some new pics! There's a very high chance of rain tomorrow, so I won't take her out for a LONG test ride until Sunday. I think it's going to be PERFECT!!

Lindsay Lohan-24, gets her name and face all over the news because she went to jail. Justin Allen-23, Brett Linley-29, Matthew Weikert-29, Justus Bartett-27, Dave Santos-21, Chase Stanley-21, Jesse Reed-26, Matthew Johnson-21, Zachary Fisher-24, Brandon King-23, Christopher Goeke-23, ...and Sheldon Tate-27... all gave their lives for you this week in military service.
Bought a new grille and I'm having serious trouble reseatting the rubber grommet on the bottom of the radiator. Any tips?
Went on my first ride yesterday (July 29th) since my accident. Felt really good to be riding again although I had all of my safety gear on including a jacket. I never thought a person could sweat so much! I guess I would rather sweat than bleed!
What a nice night last night. Our friends who have a Road King and she rides a 450? Hondamatic , which is girly and bright purple, asked us for a ride last night. Since I am the Cinderella of the group, as on my permit, ni night riding, we had to do something for an hour or so.
We hooked on down Route 9 in De to Delaware City for an ice cream. It was a nice night, actually a bit cooler then the swelter box we have been in. So we had one harley, 2 kawackers and a honda. Steve rode out front and Tami and I in between and the Woodster behind us. I dealt with a lot more evening traffic and was fine. A couple of cha cha cha cha clunkers revving her from first to second but with more practice, I think I can smooth those out. I hooked into the curves this time and it was a hoot!
It is funny, my two bosses are so worried about me riding. MY one boss told me to have my mid life crisis with something else and to pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee wear a helmet. I assured him I did , but us insurance people are really anal. I have handled some pretty nasty accidents and sometimes I have to turn off the lil voice in my head of all the things that can go wrong. It does make it hard sometimes but in order to have fun, you just have to do that, you can get shot in a mall for crying out loud and I still go to the mall!
I cannot explain to them that exhilaration and excitment that comes from riding, It is so not like a car, though my car is fun too! It is the smell and the feel of the air and the temperature changes and being one with the bike. In my case, taming the bike gremlins to be one with the bike!
Us girls being the newer riders rode back in the middle of formation so , well, Steve pulls over and I slow down to pull over and zooming past us goes an ambulance.. I am thinking, I did not even hear it!!!! OMG,,,, I am an idiot,,, well came back home and tami says,,, did not hear it either and the the boys are incredulous,, lesson learned, check rear mirror more often even in the "safety" being realtive of a formation. Then Woody races past us on a long stretch and he and Steve let the two big cruisers fly,, showoffs!!!!
Tami and I are going to do that to them someday,,, ( first we need bigger bikes)
got my grass cut today so it will leave my weekend free to ride lol.. I hope every one have fun and enjoy your ride this weekend as we will.. Ride safe..

I was turned on to this by a friend several years ago and Its the only wax I use on the bike..I'm sure alot of you folks already know about it but I didnt..( turtle wax, "ICE") Its so great for bikes as it goes on clear and doesnt leave "any" white film.. Its great on chrome, paint and even makes plastic look new! I think its actually alot better for use on bikes than cars but you can do it all with this product..I use the paste but it also comes in a liquid... And no I have no affiliation with the product.. I just think its a great product for use on bikes!!
As always my opinion....

Today was yet another sad day for our country! One of our Heros’s returned home to Oklahoma after giving his life for our country in Afghanistan. He was met by the Lawton Police, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and Patriot Guard Riders (PGR). He was escorted home, which was 80 miles south of OKC by all the above. Why this was an honor to be part of, it highlighted the reality that no matter what others may say, our troops are giving it all in the fight against terrorism!
Looking forward to the ride this October to Yosemite. Have never been there, Will take a lot of pictures,
