A few years ago, Uwe's great friend from Germany was here for a few weeks and he wanted to see a lot of the west and southwest. He got to use Uwe's Aero - but had to put some big ape hangers on it before leaving. So, he installed them, checked the bike out, loaded up and they took off for their adventure.
Riding is about the amazing things to see along the way...... sometimes it's hard to move on when you see something like this - so peaceful (except for the occasional motorcycle).
This was when Uwe was heading out with his friend from Germany. Awesome chopper - perfect for a tall rider too. Note all the clothing/luggage he's got with him. Opps - sorry, it's on the other picture - his gear had to also go on the Aero as there are not any saddlebaga or a luggage rack. That was a smart move - no worries about the extra weight, a shifting load, etc. Uwe loves to ride, but on this trip confirmed that choppers are not meant for long daily rides like they did.
The story is that the Aero had problems in CO and could not be quickly fixed, so both bikes did the return trip in the back of a rented truck. After 4 long days on the chopper, suspect Uwe was not sad about driving back. hehe Anyway, the important thing is they got back safe, had a great time and lots of memories.
Awesome riding in Canada, and super people (not just the riders)!
We found out that all the parks are free admission on July 1 every year. Found that out when we went to the ice fields at the park near Jasper. Yes, lots and lots of snow and ice - even in July!
