Headed out of the garage at 6:20am. Just installed my Blue LEDs, so flipped em on and they looked sweet! Meeting up with my buddy Strick at a local gas station. I was filling up when he showed up. Got ready to roll up north to meet some more of our gang. Flipped on the LEDs and his eyes were like saucers. Hehehe... Priceless! Cruised up I35 about 35 miles. Tons of cops were out. Even saw 4 biker cops lined up under one of the over passes. Must be end of the month quota time. Joined the 2 other northerners and headed to the rally point in Cedar Park. There were 19 bikes in all (at that point). KSU at 8am.
First stretch was the Twisted route. Lime creek around the East side of lake Travis. Woa, very twisty!!! 15mph curves and there were loose rocks on the newly paved road. Very exciting to say the least. Hit Volente beach and made our way to Ranch Rd 620. Had time to sneak a peek at lake Travis. Damn we need rain! Extremely low. Cruised 620 and started to notice bikes turning in front of us and then turning back to join the group. Very Cool!
Second stretch. Hit 71 Hwy west and made a pit stop halfway up the road. Got out to see who had joined the ride and socialize a bit. Could see the locals coming out to take a look at all the bikes too. Headed for US-281 out in the hill country.
Third stretch. Hit 281 north to Marble Falls. Perty quick ride. Just took in the scenery and since a cool front moved into the area, it was ONLY suppose to get to 96 today. Yea!
Fourth and final stretch of the route. 1431 back to Cedar Park. Nice ride with good scenery. Hilly and twisy with Cedar and live oaks lining the road. Pulled into Napalm Motorsports for the free hamburgers and hot dogs. Usually there is a bikini bike wash, but due to water restrictions it was cancelled. :( BUT the grillin girl was nothing to sneeze at!
Took off around 1230. Said goodbyes to the group and cruised 45 miles south. Pulled into the garage and opened an ice cold Busch Light out of the fridge. Good times!!!!
