thought I had this pic. on other computer, not smart enough, to remember at first, I HAVE A CAMERA PHONE.
I am new to this site and have a question. I have a problem with my V-Star 1100 (2002). I ran it for 10 miles on reserve. I filled up and finished going home 10 miles from fill up. As I pulled into the driveway. The bike started to run rough and now will not run except for 15 sec. on choke. I pulled the gas line and drained out the new gas. I cannot see any problems and the gas ran out clean and strong, no signs of water. I pulled the tank and the gas filter looks clean. Both plugs are wet from trying to start it. One thing I have not heard lately is the fuel pump run. I usually only hear that when I go to start it when it has sat for a few days.
I spent more time the bike last night. I isolated a concern with the fuel pump by isolating it from the electrical and going direct with 12V jumper. That checked out fine. I then rigged up fuel from a bottle and got it to start. One plug was not firing. It is looking like some bad gas. Put new plug in and it runs but still rough. Hoping it will clear out so I don't have to pull the carbs.
This bike was "new to me" on 16 May 2009. It was a repo with 2600 miles on it. So far the only changes have been a move to synthetic oil, a 12v adaptor so I can use my GPS. A drivers backrest has been ordered and shoud be here soon.

This is a video of me doing a walk around the bike with my homemade speakers playing at about 95%, the amp is @ 50%, I feel if I put the amp any higher I'll blow the speakers. I made these speakers from the case of a second set of tail lights, small speakers I pulled outta some desktop speakers and an 100W amp I bought online for about $50. I'm powering the amp from a small 12V battery I keep in the tool pouch up front. Have a look, feel free to write with any questions. P.S. Riding with my tunes is great! Really happy with this mod.
