History has given Bowser credit for inventing the gas pump, but what Bowser tried to invent was a better way to pump water from a well. His invention wasn’t strong enough to draw water from such a depth, but when applied to shorter distances it was a success. Bowser applied his principles to small pumps that were badly needed in country stores and anywhere that kerosene was sold. This was during a time when very little gasoline was being used, as the automobile had still not been invented. The 1892 introduction of the Durea automobile and the growing popularity of automobiles brought changes to the pump industry. As gasoline sales increased following the turn of the century, Bowser built a gas pump for general stores. Bowser grew rapidly and became a very large corporation with branches all over the world. Bowser also diversified, making hundreds of products besides gas pumps. At the end of World War II, Bowser found itself in financial trouble and began offering gas pumps at lower prices.
Kyle Bradshaw meets with National Cycle's Paul Gomez this week to learn about their cutting-edge quick-release technology, their superior wind deflection products (windshields), new products coming to market, and much more!
You will get a better understanding of how the technology works and an even better understanding of the superior quality and dedication to the customer that National Cycle brings to the motorcycle industry.
Switchblade Quick Release Windshields: Cruiser Riders now can enjoy unprecedented convenience, quality and function through an innovative line of quick change windshields. The SwitchBlade System is hilighted by National Cycle's Quickset IV mounting hardware. Featuring National Cycle's exclusive Cushion Wheels, the attractive, buffed stainless steel mounts allow the rider the ability to install or remove a windshield easily, in less than 10 seconds - with NO TOOLS.
Kyle Bradshaw meets with Greg Beck of Tucker Rocky to discuss AirHawk Seat Cushions by the ROHO Company.
AirHawk seat cushions have been providing comfort to the world for over 33 years after getting their start in the medical world. Their products have been lifesavers for those bedridden and wheelchair bound by providing a product which eliminates hot spots and bed sores.
In 2004 ROHO decided to bring these products into the motorcycle world by offering motorcycle specific cushions they named AirHawk.
The AirHawk is an air cushion featuring shape fitting technology which is in essence a system of soft flexible air cells interconnected by small channels that allows air to flow from one cell to another at a controlled rate. This is what sets the ROHO AirHawk apart from the rest of the gel or memory foam seat pads on the market. The AirHawk has the ability to protect the body from multiple forces such as fatigue, pressure, friction, sock, vibration, and much more...
For the Ultimate Air Ride, give the AirHawk a spin and you'll have a grin!

I first found Cruiser Customizing.com when searching for the best price for a set of Kuryakin ISO grips with Throttle Boss. I not only found the grips but found an amazing community of bikers from all over the world. Bikers helping bikers. People with the same passion for life and lifestyle.
At first I was a bit wary but then came an invitation from the infamous Dr. Phil Cole to join him for a coffee in the Adelaide Hills town of Stirling. From enjoying a couple of hours interesting conversation with Phil things have grown. It started with easy banter between us which grew into an idea to get Aussie CC members together somewhere in Australia. As most will know that idea is starting to come together with the inaugural River Run in April next year.
I then met the King of America. Mr. Clifton 'ÇLYDE' King. I have written a blog about what a mate means to me and Clyde has certainly become a real mate. I introduced Clyde to the concept of SKYPE ad now we talk every few days. Unfortunately I cannot repeat the conversations here. I might get kicked off the site.
From there I met the wonderful Dimitra and her elusive hubby Adam. What a remarkable young lady. I take my hat off to you Dim.
Next came a SKYPE call to manybikes himself, Kyle Bradshaw. Interesting young man. He has a wonderful habit of calling things 'sweet'. I wonder if he said that when he broke his wrist. I am certainly looking forward to meeting him in person next year.
As you all would know Phil and I had fun making a couple of videos we uploaded recently and in the process we met that man from south of the border, Cehszar and again thanks to SKYPE we managed to get all three of us on film.
Earlier this weekend I caught up with that man in the ''mother country'' Geoff Baker on SKYPE. We have since had a couple of conversations interrupted by Geoff being called to dinner by his daughter.
Finally, today that bloody trouble maker, Als1953, managed to download SKYPE. We had a short chat, hour and a half, about what else but bikes and bikers. Great t meet you Albert – I think. LOL
I want to thank Cruiser Customizing for giving me the opportunity to meet all these remarkable people from around the world and indeed here in Australia. I have since bought more products from CC and have found the service brilliant and the product excellent. As time goes by I hope to buy more bling and more importantly meet and interact with more bikers within the community.
Stay Upright & Safe folks
P.S. Forgot to mention A6. Poor bloke is having trouble with technology but he will get there. Sorry I forgot you mate.
I purchased my 2006 VTX1800 Retro in the summer of 2008, about one month after my wife passed away. We each had a motorcycle at the time; hers was a Honda 250 Rebel, and mine was a Honda Shadow Sabre 1100. I sold both bikes and combined the cash, plus a little more, and bought my VTX.
I absolutely love this bike! Sure, there are quicker and faster bikes on the market, but this bike has power to last for days. It feels like it will pull me up the side of a cliff. I have put over 15,000 miles on it since I bought it.
UPDATES:
Since I purchased the bike, I have upgraded the following:
Sometimes … not often mind you … but sometimes … you can actually change the official “stand” of a major company to admit that they don’t know everything about a product they sell.
The super streamlined and cool looking windscreen on my motorbike is manufactured by National Cycle and it’s called the “Plexistar 2”. They have always produced a fine line of products, and from my experience, they have always been of first rate quality.
I originally saw this magnificent windshield on a Honda Shadow and I truly loved it! It's a very "cool" aerodynamic design … sleek and slick … complete with hand-wings to protect the hands from wind and bugs going down the road. I wrote to National Cycle to ask if it would fit my 3rd Generation Magna.
Their answer?
"No!"
I went back to my buddy's motorbike where I had seen the wind screen in the first place and carefully measured the shield. I measured the headlight opening, the height, width, everything! Again I wrote to National Cycle ... and telling them of my careful measurements ... asked again if it would fit the Magna.
Their answer again?
"No!"
This time though, they advised that I could buy the shield if I wanted to despite the fact that it would not fit. They indicated they would not guarantee that it would fit ... and would charge me a $25.00 "restocking fee ... so as they put it, “Let the buyer beware".
Well, I ordered it ... and the thing fits as if it was designed for the Magna ... and I sent them photographs to prove it!
Now … all of a sudden … I see that it’s advertised as fitting the Sabre AND the Magna!
They should pay me a commission! LOL!
(Point of fact though … the Magna has a 1” handlebar and the windscreen comes with a 7/8” mount … so be sure if you’re ordering this for a Magna, you specify that you will need the 1” mounts!)
Kyle Bradshaw of Cruiser Customizing here talking about how you can stay dry in the hot summer rain as well as the cold winter rain. In this tip, I will cover rain gear options for the body, the legs, the hands, and the feet. In addition I will talks about my personal evolution with the testing and usage of the different types of rain gear. I the opening scene, I (Kyle) support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing a PINK Tourmaster Sentinel rain jacket. In this tip I will talk about some of the different options for both warm weather and cold weather rain protection. We will look at jackets, pants, gloves, and boots. Most rain gear manufacturers use several key materials for the construction of their rain gear garments. The most common materials are PVC, Gore-Tex type, nylons, and polyesters. PVC Rain Gear This is often seen as "emergency" or "throw away" rain gear and can be found just about anywhere! Several of our most popular brands of PVC gear are as follows: CruiserCustomiizng 2 Piece Rain Suit The Next level of non-insulated rain protection will jump up significantly in price, but the value is not to be argued with! Some of our most popular brands are as follows: In hot weather we want to be comfortable yet protected. Many of us wear mesh jackets and pants. Many mesh products do not have waterproof liners, but the following mesh products do come with zip in rain liners: When the rain is accompanied by rain, we have a need to stay dry and warm. Most winter riding gear has a waterproof outer shell to protect from wind and rain as well as some type of internal insulated liner. The two most common liners are vest and full sleeve liners. FirstGear and Tourmaster are currently our two most popular lines when it comes to cold weather riding gear. Here are the most popular choices: NEW This Year Firstgear Rainier If you are looking for a Single Solution, I suggest the Tourmaster Centurion 1-Piece rain suit. Check out the video here: Centurion Video Warm Weather Gloves If you are looking for mesh, air flowing gloves for the summer, which will also have waterproof characters, check out these two gloves: Cold Weather Gloves When venturing into the winter elements, you will want to choose a glove that will keep you warm and dry. I have used many gloves, and these are my recommendations: Feet - What to do about the feet? There are two general options for keeping your feet dry and warm. 2. Rain Booties Often I get asked by members and staff alike... "Kyle, what do you wear to stay warm and dry in the winter?" I must say that this evolution has been a WET and sometimes very uncomfortable process. I have tested many options, and the pieces below are the pieces that have kept me the most comfortable. Kyle's Evolution: PVC rain suit --> Frogg Toggs --> Tourmaster Pivot & Venture Pants --> Tourmaster Intake Jacket & Venture Air Pants --> FirstGear Katmandu Jacket and Pants --> FisrtGear Rainier Jacket and Escape Pants. There you have it! Rain gear in a nutshell. Thank you for watching this Cruiser Customizing Tip of the Week. Until Next Week, Take Care and Ride Safe! Kyle Bradshaw aka: Manybikes

hi all,
i was on this site quite a while ago, they changed so many things! my pic and profile went away. and you could hit see people with same bike. i used to read what they said about different acc's for my bike,so i started to review things i added to mine,to maybe help someone else,so they didnt waste money on high priced parts that are low quality. it's ashamed when you pay like 500.00 for pipes, and they are junk, and rust after a year! i had a problem w/vance and hine pipes,i talked to product mangers and sales people and it seemed like they didnt give a f_ _ k! mustang seats was different, they helped me and didnt even ask me to prove i bought the seat! if i owned my own company,i would like feedback and correct problems that schould be corrected! whatever happened to the customer is always right! ha ita a real shame when nobody cares or goes the extra step! when their products dont sell anymore, they will be out of a job,and its thier fault!! and thats why so many american companies are folding up! i always take pride in what ever i do,but people now are like, just give me my check and who gives a f_ _ k! well thats my 2 cents about a lot of people i dealt with! they would never work for me,ha my friend had a shop, and on his cards it said,if you want good oats, you have to pay for good oats, but if you want ones that have already been thru the horse, well thats a little cheaper,ha
After wearing a set of OEM Dunlop tires down to the cords, (yeah I know that was really stupid) I searched all over the place for a set of decent tires that wouldn't break the bank and give me a pretty good value for the buck. After reading many mixed reviews about several different manufacturer's products, but mostly on the advice of a friend who has been riding longer then I've been alive, I settled on the Continental Milestone (blackwall) tires for my 2004 Shadow Spirit. My main reasoning was that the on-line add listed them as being a good tire for a "heavy cruiser". My Shadow isn't a real heavy weight like a full-dress Harley Davidson, an Excelsior/Henderson, a big dressed out Vulcan Drifter or anything but she's heavy enough so I thought the stronger sidewall tire was good deal.
WOW. Is the only word for these tires. The rear tire's rain groves are almost wide enough to fit your finger down into so they shed a sh*t-load of water and the turn in and cornering is very neutral, much more so than the OEM Dunlops had been. I can only contribute the ride and cornering feel to being shaped more like a sport bike tire, the tread is kind of odd looking but viewed straight-on it's rounded, not blocky like a lot of cruiser tread tends to be and consequently the ride is baby-butt smooth and relatively quiet.
I put a lot of miles on my Shadow and I gave Baby her new shoes early this summer at about 15,000 miles. Now I'm pushing 20,000 miles and the tread still looks new, I'll snag some photos and post them when I roll over a full 20K.
Hope this helps somebody else. Keep the chrome in the air and the rubber on the pavement.
