Pics from our ride to Zacatecas, México Bike Week..
We rode from La Paz, BCS to Mazatlan, Tepic, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Durango and Mazatlan
The finished product! Not bad for a couple of guys working in the garage with makeshift equipment. My boy Dave Martineze can flat out paint.
My riding buddy and I took a two-day ride recently through Washington. See the route on the linked Google map...(we started and finished in Snohomish, but Google Maps doesn't recognize that Highway 20 is open beyond Diablo Lake)
It was a gorgeous ride, espeicially the stretch along Highway 20. It's amazing how varied the terrain is around here, lush and green in the west, mountains and snow-capped in between east and west, high-desert in the north central area, rolling farm-land in the south east, and low desert in the center. in just a handful of hours one can really see a vast panorama. man! i forgot about sunscreen and my nose took quite a beating.
Can't recommend enough - but watch out! those are high passes and you might get a bit chilly!
here is the downhill, had the camera on the front fender pointing at me, gotta love that suction cup mount on the GoProHero cam ... I'm on my Aprilia 450RXV
It had been a while since my last trip up Mt. Diablo! What a ride!
Saturday morning I called Uwe to see what was on his list... low and behold... Tracers wanted to take the Spyder for a ride up Mt. Diablo! Sweet I thought, so I dressed and headed over to Uwe's for the ride.
Tracers was chomping at the bit...
The weather as a BEAUTIFUL with bright blue skies with full sun and temperatures in the mid 70's.
When we left the house, Uwe was on the Victory Vision.
After just a couple miles we needed to loop back to the house to get Tracers a more motorcycle friendly pair of boots. At that time, Uwe decided to Jump on the Aprillia dirt bike for a more "nimble ride" up the mountain.
After the boot change, we headed to the base of the mountain and began the accent. KUDOS to Tracy! Up to this point Tracy has been on some not so twisty roads and as I followed her...
She was doing GREAT! Everything she was doing looked perfect. She would break and downshift into the corner... and then accelerate out of the corner. I was IMPRESSED!
When it came to the bicycles on the road (there were tons of them!) she gave them respect allowing them the room they needed / wanted and she passed only when safe for all parties. It was fun watching the faces of the cyclists as the spyder passed... it was as if they were looking at something from another planet! it did not help I was following on the BMW Adventure... another "odd" looking machine.
As we reached the top I shot this video:
As usual, the Spyder was the HOT TOPIC of conversation at the top of the mountain. Motorcyclists, pedestrians, hikers, and cyclists all took a second look...
All of the motorcyclists at the top were friendly and conversing with one another.
After a good break at the top, we headed back down into the valley...
What a great ride Tracy and Uwe!
Thanks!
Uwe chasing Tracy up Mt. Diablo this past Saturday. What a fun ride guys!

Tra, Uwe, and Kyle took a ride Saturday up to the top of Mt. Diablo. What a great ride where we were able to hang out with other fellow bikers.
