Saturday I took a ride into Yosemite National Park. To my surprise most of the snow was gone... but the views were remarkable!

Today's ride to work was chilly but great!
Left the house with temperatures in the high twenties and then decided to head down dirt levee roads in lieu of pavement.
Here is the trusty Ice warning the BMW gives me when the temperature drops.
And here below are the dirt levee roads I have the pleasure of cruising... today just over 30 miles.
So much fun!
Have a great day to all!

This morning started out with a wonderful motorcycle ride to work on my GS1200 Adventure.
The fuel light came on, so I exited the highway and pulled into a Valero, which happened to be the only statuion at the exit on the 205 in Tracy, California.
I proceeded to perform the standard gas station procedures....
and that is where I got stuck! No gas was pumping! Card was approved... machine was working... but no Gas!
So I proceded to perform the put away procedures... and moved to the next pump.
At the next pump I proceeded to perform the standard gas station procedures for the second time...
WHAT!? No Gas???
What's the deal? I thought as I put away the nozle and headed to the next island. At a new island and at the third pump I proceeded to perform the standard gas station procedures...
This time, gas flows for about 2 seconds and the pump shuts off. I squeeze the pump handle and again it begins to flow... and in about 2 seconds shuts off! Now I am squeezing the pump handle like a freak.... and was about to scream as the attendant sneaks up behind me (out of view) and shouts "Hey You"!
I tell you what... I just about JUMPED out of my already super frustrated Skin!
My head whipped around and my eyes must have had the look of fire in them...
Dude proceeds to yell (I guess he thought my helmet impared my hearing) I Sorry! I sorry! Gas is Low! Move to pump 3! I think my gas is very very low!
Ahhhh... and put the last few gallons off the bottom of the station tank in my bike?
Thank you anyway I said - I will go to the next station.
Back on the freeway I jump with about 30 miles left to travel, and my fuel guage was still throwing warning lights... but did now read "RANGE 54 miles."
"Sweet!" I thought and headed on my way to work which was about 20 miles away.
As I got towards the top of Altamont Pass (about a mile from the summit) my bike bike began to sudder and she shut down! I was shocked as the RANGE now read "RANGE 12 miles" Thnking this could not be, I got off the bike, sloshed the gas around (no sound) and attempted to restart the bike - No Luck!
I then laid the bike on its left hand crash guard, righted it, and attempted to restart the bike - No Luck!
I then laid the bike on its right hand crash guard, righted it, and attempted to restart the bike - No Luck!
Well... time to push the top of the hill in anticipation of coasting to the bottom where I know there is a fueling station.
After about 200 years of pushing up hill... (see where I had to go in west bound photo) I gave up and put a call into Uwe.
About half an hour later, Uwe was there was a can of gas and we were on our way!
Thanks a Million Uwe!

his Saturday I finally got a chance to take my Caponord off the pavement. Our parts rep Mark invited me to go on a ride with Dave from Lodi Motorsports and Larry from Family Offroad Adventures.
The ride started 11am in Lodi and we had lunch at a chinese buffet in Valley Springs. From there we headed on some twisty roads around Hogan Reservoir. The pavement finally ended and we got to ride on some gravel roads, crossed a small stream and road chased some cows
Most of the bike were dirt bikes. Mark was on his BMW GS1200 Adventure. There was a KTM 990 and one guy even rode his VTX 1300 Retro, he even crossed the stream to everybodies surprise.
They have rides planned every month. Larry is also planning a Yosemite Adventure Tour May 2nd and 3rd. I think I'll join him for that event. Checkout the links above for more info.

Here is Tracers and Uwe during our ride on Saturday! Tracers is doing an awesome job on the Spyder! Patterson Pass Road is a very twisty road... a blast to ride! It was GREAT riding next to you Tracy!
