The Vulcan Riders Association has put together a NEW form of membership. Until now, you could only join the VRA through a current chapter or by starting a chapter.
Our NEW membership is called the Non-Chapter Membership, it is very similar to Nomad Chapters of MC's. The differences being: That the VRA is an association of Riding Clubs (RC). Membership is bought, not earned. You are not required to put on x-amount of miles and cover x-amount of states. To read more about this membership, please follow the link: http://vulcanriders.us/NonChapterMembers.aspx
More VRA News:
1. The SWEDES are coming! Vulcan Riders Sweden will be coming to the U.S. to ride old Route 66 from May 31 thru June 6, 2010. See thread on VRA Forum: http://vulcanriders.us/Forum/showthread.php?t=1872 , if you are interested in meeting them along their route.
2. Belgium Vulcan Riders will be here from March 12 thru March 29, 2010, to ride in the western U.S. See thread on the VRA Forum: http://vulcanriders.us/Forum/showthread.php?t=1940 , if you are interested in meeting them along their route.
The VRA is growing by leaps and bounds, we've added 6 new U.S. Chapters in the past year. Along with new chapters in Czech Republic, France, Italy and Slovenia. Some of which have dual membership as a VRA/VROC Club. To visit the International VRA sites, follow this link: http://vulcanriders.us/Links.aspx

Exciting things are happening at the Vulcan Riders Association. http://vulcanriders.us
I wanted to give all of you a "heads up".
We recently passed a motion to allow people to join as a Non-Chapter/Independent Member. Meaning: The VRA is made up of individual chapters throughout the US, Europe and UK. Until now, you either had to be a member of a chapter or start a chapter in order to be a VRA member. With this membership, anyone with a Vulcan will be able to join.
NOTE: This addition has not been added to our National VRA website, as of yet. The motion was just passed last evening and has been debated and refined over the last 3 months. I will post again, when it is open for enrollment.
Vulcan riders: If you are interested in being part of a larger organization and don't have a VRA chapter in your area or just don't have the time to start a chapter yourself, this could be your solution. Membership to the Non-Chapter/Independent is $25.00 and you will recieve a VRA patch and access to the "VRA Members Only" forum and have full voting privelages on issues concerning the association.
Our "OPEN" forum is open to ALL riders, regardless of make/model.

Are you Covered?
Hear what the Insurance companies had to day in the Motorcycle Insurance Tip of the Week Video.
Motorcycle Insurance can be one of the most daunting tasks just before or just after getting your motorcycle. What do you need? What don't you need? What can you get for free?
After talking to 6 of the leading Motorcycle Insurance companies, I was able to glean some universal information. Of the six, the two most helpful companies were Rick Parson's Insurance Company with Foremost and Pirate Insurance out of Southern California.
Minimum Insurance Coverage: Liability is the bare minimum insurance you can purchase, and it covers nothing but the essentials for fixing whatever it is you collide with... not to beneficial. You as a rider are not covered, nor is your machine. This coverage as your sole coverage I would not recommend.
California State Minimum: 15 /30 /5 -- These numbers look like tire sizes... what do they really mean and are they enough?
15 - represents $15,000 of coverage per person involved in the accident (not including yourself)
30 - represents $30,000 of coverage per accident (total)
5 - represents $5,000 of total property damage your insurance will cover
For example sake... let's say you are at fault in an accident which involves a very expensive car with two people who end up in the hospital. Your insurance company will only be dishing out a total of $50,000 which may not even cover ambulance rides to the hospital! What happens then? You get sued for the balance!!!
How do you keep this from happening? Increase your insurance coverage!
The standard "acceptable" coverage suggested by most companies was 100 / 300 / 50.
This means $100,000 per person, $300,000 per accident, and $50 property damage.
The most IMPORTANT coverage and often most overlooked ... UnInsured Motorist Coverage. If you do not have it - look into it!
Discounts: Most insurance companies offered many discounts and the common discounts are as follows:

Song writer and Country and Western Star, Toby Keith, has a song called, "I love this bar" and his sentiments for his bar are the same for me and this site. The site offers the opportunity to conveniently purchase accessories for ones ride with just a click of
the mouse. The information on the site is just down right invaluable if the situation arises where one needs a quick fix or in depth instruction, and the people on this site are second to none.
The CC site reminds me of yesteryear before men went to hair salons for haircuts. Most men of the day went to the local community Barber Shop. Now for those who may not remember the barber shop the barber shop was more than a place to get your hair cut.
Now, although the barber shops primary business was to cut and trim hair many other things took place in the shop. Actually very little hair cutting actually took place as I remember. It was more of a social club. Chairs lined the walls and they always seemed to have a body in them unless it was a nice day and the sun was shinning then a few would go outside and sit on the bench in front of the barber
shop. Folks would come to the barber shop to catch up on events in the community, tell jokes, get a few hunting and fishing tips, gossip, Tell a few fishing and hunting stories, read magazines and the local paper, give some old fashioned ribbing to each other, play cards or checkers, disseminate information from those in the know on various topics, and a lie or two may have even been told.
Heck the barber shop even sold things such as various hair tonics, combs, after shaves, a litte hair grease, and there were even a few jars of Roses Butch Wax (Remember the stuff for the front of Flat Top Cut?) on the shelf. Although the barber had wares for sale I kinda figured he did not sell too much because there was always a good layer of dust on the merchandise but the barber still had his doors open for the community and everyone had the opportunity to express their opinions and views if they choose to do so. Now there may have been a disagrement or two mind you, but they were always short lived and life continued on.
Does the barber shop kinda sound like the Cruiser Customizing site? I find a little of everything happening on this site. The topics talked about range from here to there. One cannot guess what they will find on the media post and as far as the membership goes. We got grease monkeys, techno geeks, photographers, joke tellers, story tellers, and readers. We got workers, retirees, posters, posers, greeters, Teachers, Preachers, and point chasers. We got riders, going to be riders, just became riders, builders, designers, and organizers. We got drivers, boaters, racers, truckers, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen. We got men, women, singers, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, husbands, fathers , mothers, music writers, and music players. We got public servents, police, first responders of both genders. We got people from various walks of life and in who live in various countries. Talk about diversity we got it!
The best thing we have is the shared passion for riding and although we are all different this one thing brings us all together. That with the opportunity to be as active or inactive as we want is a big plus. We can choose to express ourselves or choose not to do so. We can post comments, pictures, videos, or we can just sit back and relax, read, or watch and take it all in. Life is good and everyone is welcome.
Sorry for getting a little long winded but I just had to state why I love this site and make a little comparison between the CC community and the Barber Shop. I hope I did not bore you to death.

A man joins a very exclusive nudist colony. One his first day there he takes off his clothes and starts to wander around.
A gorgeous petite blonde walks by, and the man immediately gets an erection.
The woman notices his erection, comes over to him and says, "Did you call for me?"
The man replies "No; what do you mean?"
She says, "You must be new here. Let me explain. It's a rule here that if you get an erection it implies you called for me."
Smiling, she leads him to the side of the swimming pool, lies down on a towel, eagerly pulls him to her and happily lets him have his way with her.
The man continues to explore the colony's facilities. He enters the sauna and as he sits down, he farts.
Within minutes a huge, hairy man lumbers out of the steam room toward him, "Did you call for me?" says the hairy man.
"No; what do you mean?" says the newcomer.
"You must be new," says the hairy man, "it's a rule that if you fart, it implies that you called for me." The huge man easily spins him around, bends him over a bench and has his way with him.
The newcomer staggers back to the colony office, where he is greeted by the smiling, naked receptionist, "May I help you?" she says.
The man yells, "Here's my membership card. You can have the key back and you can keep the $500 membership fee."
"But sir," she replies, "you've only been here for a few hours. You haven't had the chance to see all our facilities."
The man replies, "Listen lady, I'm 68 years old; I only get an erection once a month, but I fart 15 times a day! I'm outta here.
