Risers and pod fitted feels great on the road
Finally my risers and power pod arrived. spent most of the day installing them Had a bit of trouble with the brake line and clutch cable being a bit too short but managed to make them stretch with some adjustments. All went well in the end and i managed to get out on the road for a short test run. the rain had stopped for a change and was still cold but it felt good with the handle bars closer to me and that shiny chrome power pod mounted on the left hand side. Im lovin it!
cant wait for my risers and power pod to arrive from CC so i can get them fitted and eat up some bitumen
Well after reading over and over, thinking really hard and spending about $150.00 I finally went with the next logical stage in modifying the bike. She now runs like a scalded cat! Damn is she fast! I deceided to go to a pod system for air intake and do the max effort mod on the carbs. So here's the work:
Cracked open carbs and modified the float bowl by drilling out to enlarge the fuel passage to the main jets to 3/16". Ground down the selinoid pin so that it will not be effective evn when activated. On the main jet holder ground off the top 1/4" or so where the o-ring holder is so that the top is flush with the beginning of the threads. Changed the main jets up to 157.5 for front and rear and 22.5 pilots. Added one shim to the stock needle setup. Changed the PMS settings to 2.75 turns from lightly seated. Then in place of the stock airbox and filtering system I added 1 filter (K&N RC-1150 chrome top cannister filters) to the top of each elbow going directly into the carb.
She pulls so hard you better have a good grip when you leave a dead stop! I really had to think long and hard about doing this mod because drilling and grinding on expensive carbs is a committment that should not be taken lightly! Once you start, you have to finish, you can't go back! Now as I am riding I can actually hear the hiss as she takes a breath! I love the sound and the power! I just got her all put back together today and took a short 1/2 hour ride to make shre she was running right. It is a really good feeling when you get her back together and she fires right up and does what she is supposed to! I feel like I've gotten a whole new bike! What a difference!

Well as many of you know, my wife and I went on a cruise up to Alaksa. We just got home last night about 11:30 PM. Today is the "I'm too damn tired to move" day and of course laundry day! I've uploaded all the pics from my camera to my photobucket site and separated them by port of call. Naturally all the ocean going pics I just grouped into the port we just left since I'm no navagator and have no idea where the heck we were most of the time! The temos ranged from OMG! I'm so cold I'm gonna die, to taking off the jackets because it was just too warm! We saw some beautiful scenery with all the mountains and snow covered peaks to the glaciers and the wild life. Of course a lot of the wild life was from a distance while moving so some of the pics aren't great, and them some just went by too quick to take a picture of! I was amazed by the number of eagles up there! They were just everywhere you looked. We have termed them Alaska's pigeons! LOL! I was just enthralled by them. We also saw stuff with no camera close as well which was a shame because I would love to have shared some of it. I saw a pod of Orcas that were swimming beside the ship acting in the same manner as you may have seen porposes do. They were amazing! We saw a small brown bear too, but, again, to quick for a pic! I grouped the pics but haven't written anything about what they are yet so here is the photobucket account with those pics on it:

Over the next month or so as I get around to it I'll do the title and descriptions of them all.
