OK, I've gotten differing advice on this. What grade fuel do you use in your bike? I've heard everything from "I use the cheapest I can find and have never had any problems" to "I use premium and regular on an alternating basis" to "nothing but the best!".
So tell us all what you use. Why?

Victory Motorcycles is adding four new models for its 2010 lineup, two of which are designed specifically for the touring segment and two more to add to the brand’s lower price-point offerings.
“While we and all of our key competitors are facing huge economic headwinds right now, we clearly want to position the business — for Polaris and our Victory dealers — to regain growth in retail sales and market share, as the market stabilizes and starts to grow again,” said Mark Blackwell, Polaris Industries’ vice president of motorcycles. Victory moved to grow its retail presence by not only expanding its touring lineup but also taking steps to make its cruisers more appealing to a wider audience and by introducing technology on its premium models that could draw the higher-end crowd. “If you’re a classic cruiser rider, if you’re a custom cruiser rider, if you’re a performance cruiser rider, Victory now has a bike for you,” Gary Gray, Victory’s product manager, said at the unveiling. Victory’s new models include:

How was the read? What do you think???
Kyle aka: manybikes
Wow, when does summer start? It's 22 July and I'm hoping I don't have to break out my motorcycle jacket. If Al Gore doesn't fix this global warming thingy soon we're all going to freeze to death
.
Okay, so to the point...I got to thinking about motorcycle expenses and thought I'd share and ask others to do the same so we could come up with some comparisons. Maybe we'll do a "The best place to own and drive a motorcycle study". Hey, Mr Obama, can you spare us a couple million dollars to conduct another useless study?
Anyway...
GAS: Regular gas in southern NJ, USA, today s averaging about $2.15 a gallon. Unlike 'days of yore' when mid-grade and premium-grade were each an additional five-or-so cents more, now mid-grade is usually around 30-cents more than regular and you can add another 20 or 30-cents for premium on top of mid-grade. Although my manual calls for something more than regular, with regards to octane, I have found that I can run with regular and haven't noticed any ill effects. For the record, lookonly about 3 miles down the road from me; alternatively, the most expensive premium gas is in Summit, NJ (northern NJ), at $3.49/gal (Huh!); but more realistically, the most expensive in my neighborhood is in Mt. Laurel, NJ, at $2.59/gal.
Vehicle Registration: Our tax loving state, at the insistence of our popular Democratic governor, found a way to take more money out of our pockets this year and raised our yearly motorcycle registration to $65. That seems pretty outrageous to me and if I remember correctly, I think it was down around $35-to-$40 last year. Can any New Jerseyans confirm?
Insurance: I insure my bike year round. I'm not sure if the insurance companies would go for partial year insurance, although I don't see how they could object, but I am insured through Progressive and pay $275 a year. That gets me $250,000 PIP (medical), $100,000 liability per person, $50,000 property damage, $100,00 unisured motorist injury, $50,000 uninsured property damage, $100 deductible comprehensive, $500 deductible collision, $3000 accessory damage, and roadside assistance. (There's probably some break built in there because I carry Progressive auto insurance as well, but that's the cheapest I could find.)
So, bottom line...
NJ Gas = $2.15/gallon
NJ M.C. Registration = $65.00/yearly
NJ M.C. Insurance = $275.00/yearly
