Ladies Riding Motorcycles

Description:In the past 7 days 6/12/07 to 6/19/07 I have seem more women riding their own two wheeled vehicles then ever before! Where did they all come from... or where have they been hiding?
Once a month for the past two years I have attended a business meeting in Sacramento, CA which is a 200 mile ride round trip. Throughout the years and over the roughly 4,500 miles I have NEVER encountered a woman on a bike.
June 12th I rode from the central valley of California to Sacramento, for my monthly 200 mile round trip. On my ride to the meeting I passed a lady on a newer Honda 750 Spirit (shaft drive), waived and thought to myself, "Rock on!" This months meeting was at the California Family Fitness Center, and I was surprised to park next to a gal who had just finished her workout and was mounting her Yamaha R6 for her ride to work.
A bout 4:30pm I headed home and got stuck in some pretty nasty Sacramento commute traffic on Highway 99. While splitting lanes I passed a lady rider on a Suzuki Bergman (probably the 650). Shortly thereafter I passed another lady rider on a Kawasaki Vulcan of some sort. Not twenty minutes later I passed another group of ladies, both on Harley Davidson Sportsters. As I entered my home town city limits I was joined at a stoplight by a gal on a Vespa type scooter.
Wow! What a day... 7 women riding their won motorcycles or scooters.
Tuesday 6/17 during my 50 mile ride to work, I came across another lady rider lane sharing on her Kawasaki Ninja 250.
And then today, while riding to work aboard my Goldwing, I was "snuck up on" by two gals on Harley Davidson motorcycles. One was on a bagger and the other on a Softail. They rode with me for the final 18 miles of my commute before I waived and exited the highway.
No Joke! In the past 7 days I have seen more women on motorcycles then ever before. I don't know about you, but I am excited and hope this trend continues!
Have any of you noticed a spike in lady ridership recently?
