For the second time, I had the good fortune to meet a CC member living not too far from home . After e-mailing back & forth a number of times on the topic of great rides and complimenting each others' photos, that golden invitation arose "if you're ever in the area..." . Well, that's all it took for me to get myself into the Great Falls Mt. area (3 hours) to meet up with mt2stepper and "biker babe" (unofficial title), his most lovely & significant other. By the way, mt2stepper is definitely the winner here.
I could write volumes on Montana hospitality from previous encounters, but I'll spare you for now. We got together bright & early Sunday morning and headed south out of Great Falls towards Helena. After numerous history & points-of-significance stops, and 2 different passages over the continental divide, we finally stopped in Augusta Mt. for lunch at this little diner Jeff Foxworthy might include in his you might be a redneck if.... routine. The food was terrific! Wonders never cease!. My tour continued on again, now leaving the mountain regions heading into what I'll refer to as the heartland or farming area of the state. What a beautiful ride through an absolutely gorgeous area of the state. We were on the road from 9:00 in the morning til after 3:00 in the aftrenoon, and I was back on the interstate heading back north towards the border by about 3:30. What a Day!!
Thank-you mt2stepper & biker babe (that tag is going to stick!) for such a terrific ride! It's so easy to extend an invitation, yet another thing all together to follow through with such genuine enthusiasm and hospitality as you did.
