    I usually go by the "the plan is that there is no plan" principle and try to be spontaneous. For the 6 week Europe trip we didn't have much of a plan on where to go either.

    However, we had to be prepared in terms of bikes, riding gear and all other accessories and gadgets to have a safe, fun and exciting trip and to record and share our experience with all of you.

    Here is my Road Trip Packing List:

    
    

    For the bike

    
    

    • luggage (saddlebags, top cases, backrest bags, tank bags, ROK straps)
    • repair
      • Cruztools, Tire repair kit, fuel line, fuses
    • horns, lights
    • safety: check tires, break pads, do service, Tire pressure sensor, tire pump, tire gauge
    • crash guards, frame sliders
    • comfort: heated grips, cruise control
    • biker cover, locks, alarms
    • cleaning supplies, chain lube

    
    

    
    

    For the rider and passenger

    • helmet, tinted visor, bandana, Schampa,  sunglasses, ear plugs

    • riding undergarments
    • hydration (cup holder or system)

    I believe there are 5 Essentials that every biker should take with them on any ride:

    1. Camera: Documenting and sharing the ride is always great fun! I use a Casio Exlim
    2. Water: Bottled or Hydration Packs are the way to go!
    3. Tire Repair Kit: Progressive Suspension or Slime Tire Repair are two kits I have used which have worked well. 
    4. Tools: Cruz Tools make some great kits. 
    5. Fuel

    Essential Clothing

    • Rain Gear
    • Heated Gear
    • Cooling Vest

    Other miscellanious items I find useful:

    • Sun Screen 
    • Flashlight: I prefer LED over the other options
    • Insect Repellant
    • Tie Downs: I prefer adjustable ROK Straps
    • Spot Finder
