• VStar 1100 Oil Filter Relocati

    For those of you who are interested in the final result of the oil filter relocation kit install, here's some pictures of my bike with it installed.

    You can see the chrome filter cover just peeping over the exhaust pipe there. I was a bit worried that all that chrome might look out of place on my black bike, but I think it looks really nice down there.

    One thing I was worried about was people said that the area which was covered by the vanity plate with the YAMAHA logo would look bad because it was under the plate. A little bit of Mr Sheen (Aussie furniture polish) and it came up like there was never anything there

    

     

    You can see the hoses in the picture (right). I was initially worried that they would not fit because when I held it against the bike I could not see how they would. I bought the normal length hoses that came with the kit, but they fit perfectly as you can see.

    The oil filter itself is tucked up under the front. I'll have to see how it goes with crap flicking up from the road onto the chrome I guess.

    All in all, I'm very happy with the results. Now I have to wait to put another 5,000 kms on her so I can do the next oil change myself!

• Riser spacers

    I changed my stock handlebars to a pair of Carlini super sweep bars with built in risers.  Problem is they are too low looking for a spacer that can be added onto the bottom of the built in riser on a vstar 1100 the bars are 1 1/2" diameter.  I have seen these extenders for other bikes but not mine.  Any advice anyone?

• I want to go riding!!!!!!!!!!

    I want to go riding so bad. I keep seeing bikes go past our picture window. But I can’t, I have my two granddaughters, for the whole weekend. They are 5 and 11 years old, they arrived at 5 pm Friday and they will be here until late afternoon Sunday. We went last night and all got our nails done. Today is planned full of activities, we are going to get new shoes to go with their Christmas outfits, then hair cut and styled, eyebrows waxed, (the 11 year old decide to pluck her own brows about 4 months ago, now there is enough grown back to get them shaped the right way.) We then will go out to lunch, come back home, get dressed in their picture outfits and go for their Christmas Pictures at 6 pm. I planned a busy day to try and take my mind off not being able to go riding, but I still want to going riding today, can’t go because Madcow/Chris/Honey/Pap’s is in the woods, with son and daughter-in-law, so I get the girls. I love the girls. Gee, I wish I could go riding. Oh, did I already say, I WANT TO GO RIDING!  That thought has been going through my head every time I see a motorcycle go by, it will be worst while out driving my 15 passenger van today. For all of you out riding, have fun, enjoy and most of all stay safe. I really want to be out on my bike.

• Owning the Street

    The rally was in Leon, Guanajuato in central Mexico.  The city was overrun by more than 30,000 bikes that weekend. We were on our way to meet a few more friends that were in town that weekend to go on a quick trip to the state`s capital city.
